Sorting through loads of stuff that’s been in storage while builders are in, this is infuriating
That's certainly a sorry sight .I passed through Bahrain and Dubai airports over Christmas, and neither had any premium Cuban cigars above about a 40 ring gauge. No Partagas SD4, no Cohiba Robusto, no Trinidad Topes, no R&J Short Churchill etc.
Mirrors my euro trip in Summer with empty cabinets at Palma airport.
Still a full cabinet at home which is nice. Must still be supply challenges.
Lovely Bolivar Belicosos on the go from my recent trip. Been in the humidor a good few years now, glad I stocked up when I did.

Difficult to tell from the photo, but I’m guessing it is mould rather than plume?number2 said:

From the Fox's event last Wednesday
Selection Meerapfel La EstanIca Exclusiva 50
Vitola :Robusto
Gauge: 50
Length: 5"
Described as medium or 3 out of 5 for strength.
A blend of aged Nicaraguan and Cuban tobaccos.
As New World cigars go, this was easily one of the better ones I have tried, no doubt assisted by the inclusion of Cuban tobacco, being somewhat more complex than the average Nicaraguan in my experience. And yes, I have quite enjoyed a number of New World cigars in the past.
To be fair though, it was not a patch (for me) on the Bolivar Royal Corona of the previous event, and for the £5 price difference I know which I would choose.
Still, if New World cigars are your thing, then it's probably worth a try, if you can find them.
It is of course a matter of personal tastes.
Paired with a selection of three Plantation rums, which sadly I lack details/photos of.
The world of rum is not all about Bacardi for sure.
ETA - Plantation rum.

Just back from a few days in Majorca for some sun and to restock the humidor.
Very slim pickings on Cuban cigars. The guy who owns the Tabac in Port de Pollenca where I usually got had a few individual sticks but nothing by the box. He said that although there isn't any change to the global supply of Cubans they were going to higher value markets outside of Spain. He went to the wholesaler in Palma while I was there and came back with nothing at all.

I had no luck in Palma, Bahrain or Dubai airports last year. Off to Palma again in a couple of weeks so will see what the tabacs and airport have to offer, but I'm not holding out hope.
The airport had no cigars at all. Mrs Knee is off to Palma as well in a couple of weeks so I'll give her a shopping list and see if she has any luck.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
