Leeds Australia by any chance
May as well be No idea why the bloody photo rotates, I even tried turning it upside down first and it still appears like that!
Went in for a couple of Montecristo No 4 today but came away with a Petite Edmundo to try instead.
I know they may be at the lesser end of the officionado market but I do like Montecristo cigars.
Also appears that Dunhill have stopped making Navy Rolls so need to hunt for a new pipe baccy as well.

Apparently there are replacements for a lot of the Dunhill range, no idea what's going on with them, I see a all of my regulars have been discontinued and 'replaced' as well...I know they may be at the lesser end of the officionado market but I do like Motecristo cigars.

Black Swan tobacconists - Replacement for Dunhill De Luxe Navy Rolls
Got an update from Fox's ( JJ Fox Pipes on this. No more Dunhill at all for the foreseeable future.
Looks like the Charatan replacements are the only option. Apparently feedback has been fairly positive, including from the Pipe Club of London
I quite like the Monti Double Edmundo myself
I also smoke quite a few No 4s when there isn't time for something larger...

I got an excise bill for the second order in succession today. I wonder if something has changed or whether I have just been unlucky?
£80 for the cigars, £130 for the duty. Unbelievable.
Ouch. It's always been a gamble but it's a while since I bought my last bulk batch. Thankfully I bought enough Punch and Cohibas to last a whole, to say nothing of the collection of non-Cuban stuff that I generally prefer. £80 for the cigars, £130 for the duty. Unbelievable.
Good luck next time!

This forum has been quiet for a while. I assume everyone has been out in the garden having a smoke in the good weather.
I went to a tasting hosted by my local wine merchant and run by H and F. They had two cigars to chose from-a Hoyo de Monterray Epicure No.2 or a Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill. I already have a few Hoyos which I enjoy very much so went for the RyJ. I was slightly concerned as it is billed as a medium strength and I'm a newbie to this and didn't want to fall over in front of the more seasoned smokers. I found it to be not a strong as I thought and a really pleasant smoke. It was an easy draw and stayed cool down to the last. I was a bit sad when it finished. It could have done with an extra half an inch but that's the story of my life. I'll definitely be buying a few to put in the humidor.
On a slight tangent, I've been using an old Dunhill Rollagas to light my cigars. If it is anything other than completely still it makes lighting up tough. A few of the guys at the tasting had jet lighters which definitely won't get blown out but they did seem pretty aggressive. One older chap charred a great chunk of his cigar while trying to even up the burn. Anyway, it looks like I probably need to get one at some point for breezy days. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on jet lighters?
