Try a punch cut too. I think all smokers should have the three cutters for variety
Is there a a sort of guide to which cut suits a particular size or is it just preference?I was in New York and sampled some very sweet cigars courtesy of ACID (When i say sweet i actually mean sugary).
Acquired taste, but relatively smooth and not too harsh. At times the taste was over powering.
Anyone recommend a decent supplier online as i am now back in the UK?
Dont want to be stung with excise duty

A quick google will bring up one in Oz and one in Switerland (from memory.... I think...).
No garantee that they will arrive without duty demands but they are very well priced. Cheaper in fact than some middle east dutyfree cigar shops which is saying something.
I personally like the Oz site due to the smokes being picked and graded but you've got to be awake at the right time to get your order in before they are all gone.

Thanks, I’ll try J. J. Fox and let you know what I bought.
I'll third Fox's.I wouldn't say to avoid Davidoff, or Dunhill (1A St. James) either , but you mustn't miss out JJ Fox.
Of course everyone has their preferences otherwise the other two wouldn't still be in business.
Enjoy the experience.

Fox’s is brilliant. Buy a cigar from the room and go smoke it (sample) upstairs. It’s like having your own private little club for the cost of a cigar in a superb location. Living up North I just wish it was more convenient.

There is at least one particularly nice cigar sampling lounge in the North of England, but looking at your profile it looks like you're geographically closer to the middle of the country so it wouldn't be a particularly convenient haunt for you either.I haven't had many cigars this year, I need to get a few decent smokes in next year. I hear CAO's 2012 Throwback special edition is supposed to be particularly good. I'll have to get my hands on one.
