Are they noise cancelling? After a recent flight I have decided I need some new headphones. Can you give us a review after they land.

They're not Noise Cancelling, no.

However I did a fair bit of reading and general consensus seemed to be that they seal very well and the sound quality is so good that it's not really an issue. This was when compared to Bose QC35s etc.

They arrived this morning. They are a lovely bit of kit... so well made, lovely soft leather.

I've only had a bit of listening but I'm blown away. So, so good. Can't wait to get them run in a bit and listen to some favourite tunes. Quite bass heavy but I like that.

Thoroughly recommended thumbup

I backed this KickStarter:

http://kck.st/2nMRSHC

A Smartwatch with mechanical hands. It's going great guns, and only has 3 days left. There are a number of upgrades included free now, including an extra strap, 2 year guarantee, sapphire glass and a charging dock.

I think it's worth a look. I have no affiliation with the company, other than having one on order, and wanting to see a good idea succeed.

I have a pair of B&W P5 Series 2 headphones and they are worth every penny. However, having said that, I would like to upgrade to the bluetooth version for practicality....I tried the P7's but found them too big to wear most of the day which I do with my P5's at work.

Linx Vision 8 tablet

Been wanting one for a while but they have always been £100-£150. Got a like new one for £70 from Amazon (same price on ebay) a couple of days ago and happy to report back that it streams Xbox One very well. Installed Steam and Origin and started to download some previously purchased PC games which seem to be working ok.
Tonight I will be testing PS4 streaming as they have an app for that on the Sony website.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0187U2M...

I bought one of these for my nephew when they went down to £99.99 just before Christmas. I was so impressed with it I bought myself one. It's amazing how well Windows 10 runs on such modest hardware. Just dont open loads of HD youtube tabs at the same time and you will have very few frustrations with it.

I highly recommend a programme you can download from Steam called Controller Companion. It will let you play games that have not been set up for the Xbox controller and set up short cut keys to emulate a keyboard. It can also turn the analogue sticks into a mouse, which you can use like an IBM/Lenovo style trackpoint. I also got a cheap bluetooth mini keyboard, which is also useful for setting up games. You can set up a hotkey to activate mouse mode on and off. I think I use the bottom right button held down at the same time as the left pointing controller button on mine.

I installed Fusion Megadrive emulator and an emulator for the Gameboy Advance and a few games. The set up works really well for Road Rash II, Sonic, Desert Strike etc. Road Rash is so much fun biggrin. My nephew likes playing Pokemon Emerald on it.

I found Opera browser works better than the rest on low performance Windows hardware.

You can set Windows to use the SD card as a hard drive so you can install Steam and games on it directly. There is a problem with using 128mb SD cards in that they periodically disconnect. You might be ok with a smaller one. There is a way around it by using older drivers, but it results in much slower performance from the card. I'm using the older drivers and I don't think it really makes much difference to the usability unless you are copying massive files over. I might be able to find the link to the drivers I used if you like?

Just remember to switch Steam to offline mode if you want to play Steam games out of the house!
Following these posts I dived in and bought one from Amazon for £65. Very impressed with it having tested with XBox One and Steam streaming.

Thanks for the heads-up! smile

I have recently bought a Safety Devices PO13 13pt rollcage for a Porsche 968, despite my not having owned a 968 this millenium.

I have also bought a 41" Whelen/Woodway Justice LED lightbar (blue lenses, 9 LED corners, CON3s, alley lamps and rear reds) a GPS signal jammer and a somewhat over-priced 60th sec 60 min Omega stopwatch complete with original case, the latter was to make up for not securing a 12hr Breitling the other day (of which I already own three).

All frivolous, with the possible exception of the jammer. I already have a homologated P(O)18 and more stopwatches than I can count.

Now what are you going to do with the GPS jammer?

My work vehicle is now fitted with a third party tablet, which provides tracking through the embedded GPS feature and integrated GPRS. I don't want a 20yr old fkwit ringing and asking why I have been parked in a layby for 45mins - we own the truck and the tablet is a new development which wasn't part of the original contract. From time to time I want to be able to turn it off without turning off the device itself.

How about rigging it up with MAME via a raspberry pi or cheap desktop and running all the classics? Could that be done?

Finally got around to treating myself to a decent Dac/headphone amp to go with my Sennheiser HD650 cans!

It's a Pioneer U 05, just hooked it up now to my digital optical source and feeding it some tunes .

Currently listening to the Kings of Leon album and the track called Over, which I know and love.

But oh my straight out of the box this sound fantastic, it's like there's a whole room of extra instruments, it's amazing and by all accounts it gets better the more you play it too.

Entirely frivolous , but bloody fantastic.

I went ahead and ordered a Fidget Spinner and Fidget Cube a few weeks ago and they arrived whilst I was on holiday. They now reside in my office drawer and have both stopped me from spending time bending all the paperclips out of shape or constantly disassembling my pen or similar.

Laughed at that...I've not straightened a single paper-clip since getting my cube, I used to go through boxes of them yes
