More frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need..

I think the only way you're going to get wireless earbuds with materially improved battery life is to go for those few that have a 'battery neckband'. It's just not physically possible to fit cells with sufficient capacity without it.
Yup. My old Leophile Zeros and the Eels have the neckband design. The Zeros were returned after they stopped working. I’m keeping the Eels for gym use, just wondered if there was an alternative to the Zeros as they are out of stock on Amazon. Will just get another pair of those when they are back in stock.Bungleaio said:

Seems they only ship to USA though. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anki/vector-b...
I bought one of these after trying one out in a shop here by chance, it was really nice and I had a sore point in my lower back which it helped with after just a few minutes!
Perhaps not frivolous due to that, but thought I would recommend it here anyway

Red inflatable stand up paddle board! Did i need it nah...i am any good on it, nope. My concept was to allow a fat forty year old to enjoy the surf with his kids...thus far i have shoved my youngest around on it in the shallows much to the sniggering of the amassed life guards.
being 40 and not giving a sh!t and having the spare to indulge your whims is a nice time in life.

I'm still really liking my Sony Wf-1000x.
Admittedly, FlyMaybe effectively paid for them after cancelling a flight out of Schiphol.
Cheers for the suggestion. The battery life is the main issue with those and the similar form factor ones. I use my headphones a lot. With my Leophile Zeros I would only have to charge them after two or three days. The Leophile Eels need charging every two days. I tend to have my headphones in for most of the day whilst at work and most of the evening at home.Admittedly, FlyMaybe effectively paid for them after cancelling a flight out of Schiphol.

Lazermilk recommended these earlier on before realising I wanted over not in ear!
Cheers for the suggestion. I already own a pair of those, haven’t used them in months as they are wired. number2 said:
My interest has been piqued - found them here relatively cheap, but it looks like they come from Honk Kong... https://www.tobydeals.co.uk/en_GB/product/sony-wf-...
If I may draw on your experience - what is the battery life like? It says 3 hours on a full charge, but is it really 3 hours (with noise cancelling), and is it useful life up to the point the battery dies, or do they suffer from 'interference' after 2.5 hours say?
I rarely use mine with the noise cancelling on but the battery life seems as advertised on mine.If I may draw on your experience - what is the battery life like? It's a consequence of the design I suppose but 3 hours is short IMO - the only real downside for me.
There is no doubt for me that the reason you can get such good deals on these is that a lot of people have had interference and drop out issues. I always take them out of the case in the right order etc and very occasionally get short drop outs.
If you're particularly looking for noise cancelling I think the Zeros are comfortably better. I gave my Zeros to a friend when I moved as I didn't have the space but I may buy another pair here just for the battery life as I can use them at work etc.

I get about a week out my Fenix 5 battery, including 2-3 hours of running. 6 months in, no regrets with that purchase at all.
It looks great with one of these: https://www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk/DiModell-Rallye-Red...
Went and ordered that Really pleased, and much more comfortable as well! It looks great with one of these: https://www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk/DiModell-Rallye-Red...
Standard
New strap
I bought a whizzy cordless Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Frivolous, because I already have an upright Dyson and also a Henry hoover. And I'm also very lazy at doing housework.
I could have spent less than half the price and got the Hoover equivalent. Guess that's the Dyson tax.

These are the over ear ones that a few folks discussed and purchased a few pages back. I prefer in ear and went with another pair of Leophile Zeros. Still waiting for them to turn up though.

Well I'm sad enough to be curious about how you get on with this. I hate vacuuming by keep fooling myself that if I buy a cordless Dyson I'll suddenly double the amount I do. I won't after about the first week of course.Frivolous, because I already have an upright Dyson and also a Henry hoover. And I'm also very lazy at doing housework.

Not to mention I don't have one of those amazing ideal kitchens on the advert with a socket at hand height on a spare wall. This means it will live in the garage or spare room with the rest of the junk.

At a risk of making it ineligible for this thread, I bought it mainly because I have a spider web problem in my house - little bds cover the ceilings and walls with clumps of web that collect the dust, and the idea of being able to walk around the house with a gizmo with a long tube, acting as a motorised duster, appealed to me. Not to mention I don't have one of those amazing ideal kitchens on the advert with a socket at hand height on a spare wall. Initial impressions are that on normal mode, the suction is adequate. On "max suction mode" it burns through the battery in a matter of minutes. The User Guide says that it can go 20-30 mins on a full charge on normal power, but only 6 mins on max mode, and I can certainly attest that max mode didn't last long.
I haven't tried the floor head yet.
Worth noting is that despite being called "Motorhead", the head does not appear to be motorised - there is no electrical connection between the head and the body.
If you have a CostCo near you, then they have a Shark brand one, with two batteries, and which does have an electrical connection between head and body, and thus the head is properly motorised. It would probably do a far better job at being a proper vacuum cleaner replacement.
However, for what I needed, the Shark looked a bit hefty and the Dyson much lighter and less unwieldy.
Or, if you want to go bonkers stupid on price, the new Dyson V10 is twice the price - over £500 for a vacuum cleaner! Madness!
