Given things have moved on from the days of reading a catalogue, free Homebase type literature or maybe even a menu when on the loo / in the bath, I decided to get an iPhone / iPad holder to save my arms / knees from aching. It clamps to the bed, too and can be bent to any shape you wish. I know they have been around for a while, but I just thought I would share as it's not like I really needed it.

I’ve always wanted one. Slate bed too.

Went for green cloth though.

I recently purchased a 1:18 scale model car. I'm not really into model cars but I liked it. I wanted a box to put it in to keep the dust off. Most on the market are cheap and nasty. I then found this in Germany. Still cheap but not nasty

I've just got exactly the same thing, I'm not into model cars either but recently bought a 1:18 scale Century V12 in advance of the real thing.

I got my box on Amazon, but you have to be sure a 1:18 will fit by checking the actual box dimensions and not the sellers claims. The first box I got said it was for 1:18 and showed it with a Ford F150 truck within, which at 1:18 would be 33cm long, the box was 25cm long.

It arrived yesterday, having wrecked half of my yard delivering the thing! hehe
(the low loader had to use quite a lot of grass to turn around, and a hidden tall bracket on the roof snagged and demolished the gutter on my shed whilst rolling it in)

You can customize it alot.

However don't get the Watch from Vitality, I looked into it, for the what they are offering, it didn't seam worthwhile. Also I think the watch offer ended yesterday. Also to get the discounts, we aren't talking about walking the dog once a day and popping to the gym a couple of times a week...
I know the offer ended yesterday, but another one is always just around the corner.

My other half has one through Vitality that seemed good value. I wasn't sure how it would work if you only wore it for an hour a day. I assume it isn't a big enough sample size for the heart rate etc for them to see how much you're actually using it.

If it's an all or nothing thing, it isn't happening.
Its a tiered points system, I think you need to be onto 12,000 steps a day plus calorie (move), exercise and standing to make it to a tier worth having, so while you wouldn't need to wear it all day, an hour a day is unlikely to cut it. As a device it is designed to be used alot more obviously smile
Whilst I do between 8-9k steps, does this also register swimming as I aim to be going back to 4-5 sessions a week, but Im not sure if the apple watch will register that or if vitality just do steps?

You can track swimming using the built in exercise app, however it thinks it can't record heart rate accurately when under water so on the swimming modes it turns that feature off. heart rate based exercise is what vitality runs from so this is a bit of an issue. however I record my swimming sessions as HIIT sessions which does record heart rate but not lengths etc and it gives you 5 points for a 30 minute swim or 8 for an hour. you can record up to 12 points a day and 40 a week.

hmmm...

Is that 12 points a day and 40 a week off HIIT or is it 40 points max per week?

why is it less for an hour swim then a 30 mins swim? I usually swim for an hour so that would be 8 points up to 5 times a week and then what ever walking for the rest of the week, so I guess I can get the 160 points a month for not needing to pay for it.

How is their life insurance quotes, good, bad, ste?

I dont need them for health as Im covered by work and as such, there is no point in getting another as it doesnt work like that.

It’ seems it’s 8 points total a day now, dropped down a year or so ago and I hadn’t realised. 40 points a week total too. So you would have to work out whether you would get it by steps or exercise or both. Steps wise it’s 7k for 3 points, then I think 10k for 5 and maybe 12k for 8 but I don’t do that much walking. I only have it as I have their health scheme via work. As for the cost it made sense to me as the price was the same as buying outright but at 0% and split over 2 years never mind taking into account the £100 odd I’ve saved on it with my less than I planned to do exercise regime!

I am a middle aged man.

I have a small pot belly.

I have no shame.

I enjoyed skating in the 80's.

I have some (too much, apparently) disposable income.

Behold: https://www.longboardsuk.com/squid-38-classic-circ...

I paid less than half that, BTW, but still.
