Nice balanced cables for my Sennheiser HD650 cans to go with my new Pioneer Headphone DAC.

Jesus what a difference, listening to a snow patrol track, I can now here the lead guitarsists fingers sliding down the fret, quite stunning difference!,

Boker Subcom 42.

I already have plenty of small and medium sized penknives, but this one has a titanium frame so I decided I 'needed' a lightweight knife to keep in the Landy (where, much like a Caterham, adding lightness is paramount biggrin).

No I don't keep a knife in the car, that was merely my frivolous premise for a frivolous purchase!

That said, this type of knife - non-locking with a blade of less than 3 inches - is perfectly legal to carry in the UK without "good reason", as long as it's not used in a "threatening way":

I've got a Swiss Army knife in the car just in case. Is that bad?

In case of what? Having to cut a belt if you go into a lake is all I can think of.

Actually I used it the other day to dig a lump of metal out of one of my wheels. I also use it to sharpen pencils for work, I can never find a pencil sharpener.

Ive got one of these to cut the belt: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anpro-Auto-Safety-Hammer-...

Keeping a Swiss Army knife in the car? It's only "bad" if it's got a locking blade and/or the blade is longer than 3 inches and/or you use it in a threatening manner. You can have a locking/longer blade in the car at times of course, but only if you have good reason to do so, i.e. were taking it home from the shop, were going camping, etc.

As for what you can use a (legal) pocket knife for...loads of stuff. I normally carry a tiny little Spyderco Clipitool knife (https://www.heinnie.com/spyderco-clipitool-bottle-screw) in the little pocket on my jeans. Useful daily, for opening parcels, cutting through tape/packaging, tightening screws, opening bottles, prying things open/apart, etc.

Well I dont think I have ever used one in my life so genuinely cant imagine why I would want one in the car.

I guess my life is a lot less bear grylls/interesting than other people though hehe

You have never used a pen knife? This surprises me, I thought it was a rite of passage for all men?

I think I got my first one for my 7th or 8th birthday... the kind of present that looking back, I'm sure my parents were horrified to receive from an uncle who doesn't understand age appropriate gifts. But then once I had it, I found uses for it everywhere! Sharpening logs to make spears, cutting branches off trees...

Now the one I have in the car and the one in the van are often in handy, especially my leatherman, the pliers are used the most on mine I reckon

Dont get me wrong, I have had them (who doesnt want a S.A.K as a young lad), I just cant ever remember using one! I probably carved a stick as a kid or have opened a bottle with one actually.

I have tools for everything I need in the house, car or garden, but I just dont use a penknife ever. Stanley knife sure, bottle opener sure, screwdrivers sure, but just never those bits on a penknife. Ive never needed one in the car certainly albeit I do have one of those seatbelt cutter/window breaker tools in the glovebox.
