People often don't appreciate what a step up a marine setup is in terms of regular maintenance and delicate chemistry from a typical tropical or Cichlid tank.

It's really much, much more delicate, and very easy to bring something in on new purchases that destabilises and kills everything. Not to mention that everything costs more!

My OH has 240L at the moment, she keeps eyeing up bigger and bigger ones...
Totally agree, I jumped straight into it and spent a fortune on finding that out.

It was amazing having a small colony (4) of seahorses though and my LFS breeds them which is fascinating to see!
I looked into it briefly before getting my freshwater one, the extra cost and maintenance put me off. Although I do much prefer the kind of fish/creatures you could get in saltwater, the seahorses sound great!

They should be back in stock on Amazon.com soon; they're only sold through amazon and direct from Wyze. Price was the same when taking shipping into account.

They were out of stock on both for a couple of months, now that Wyze has them back, it won't be long before amazon does.

They're a cold cathode, don't really get above 40c.

BUT they usually have 200V power supplies and run at about 150V, so I'd be in no hurry to touch them.

Edit - also try http://tube-clock.com/

I will report back in a couple of weeks hehe however a quick google on Nixie Tubes shows they get "warm" rather than hot (40C)as they are cold cathode tubes. I found it quite interesting to read! See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tube

They don't.

I'm currently debating my next project and what to build it into rather than the standard cases. I think I put up my previous one quite a few pages back. An old Mac Mini case.

I've 'frivol-ed' again....

Ebay has a lot to answer for. However, following my nostalgia-trip Tamiya Guide book further up the thread, I have also been looking around for the Scalextric cars that I owned when I was 12, 13 years old - and stupidly sold when I left school to raise money for a motorbike.

Anyway I have just bought a mint, new old stock Mk. 1 Ford Escort RS 1600 which is one of the ones I used to have. Not bad at £35 - will arrive tomorrow. Sadly, I am now on a mission to find all the cars that I used to own - including two articulated trucks - and it looks like they're around on Ebay. The trucks are going for over 100 quid each though - looks like it might be an expensive few months coming up, haha! Frivolity rocks!

Frivoled hehe now there's a word I haven't heard since the 80's. One of my mates at the time was a master of frivollery (is that even a word?) biggrin

Yes, a bit curious how they display that - searching for it directly shows the wait, some links don't.
I did like however, how they show the Wyze camera as being "Amazon's Choice" in the category of "Wyze Camera" biggrin

Either way though, when I tried to order through amazon.com rather than co.uk it wouldn’t let me do so to a uk address?

Might have to buy a Wyze one when they are in stock again, at that price you cant go wrong anyway. I was wandering if you could power it by a USB powerbank and connect to to a wifi hotspot in your car, you could have a good security camera depending how long the battery lasts...

ETA - Just realised what you meant when you said in the category of 'Wyze', its the same for the Yi one on the German Amazon where I got mine biggrin
