In my head, I’ve spent about £7,000 on watches this week. From about £200, up to about £2,600. Being bedridden, but having internet access, is a dangerous combination. Especially when several models I really want have come up and I was also offered a great deal on one of them by PHer Dom H (I refuse to say “grail watch” or “pulled the trigger”). I will be going back to Dom when I’m mobile again as I do actually want the watch he offered me, but I’d like to do the actual physical act of shopping and it’s an excuse for a couple of days away with my GF. OK, once we’ve travelled and paid for a hotel, I’ll probably have spent the same as if I bought it locally at list price, but this way, I get a “free” trip to London.

I have bought some Lego from Amazon. I paid over £30 for the top one, which I could have got for free a few months ago using my VIP card (basically the alego equivalent of a supermarket loyalty card). I’ve got the full size one of the Beetle, but wanted the smaller version. Again, this was a freebie a few months back.

I went onto my Lego app on my phone after amazon delivered them today to upload the new sets, only to find I’ve already got them both.

I should’ve stuck with the watches.

I needed some replacement earphones for walking/running/proving how unfit I am every other evening. Somehow I've lost the set I bought years ago that have done the job fine.

Any set of headphones would do, doesn't need to be anything special, I'll probably lose them or drop them or something anyway. Something cheap and almost throw away.

rolleyes

On the plus side, the app will tell you where you last had them if you lose them, and they do sound incredibly good for Bluetooth earphones. Comfy too and they don't budge at all when running.
I bought the Sony version of these a few weeks a go. Amazing bit of technology really.

The Sony version (WF-1000X) are being included in EE contracts at the moment and there are lots of people selling new pairs on eBay - easily had for around £90 at the moment.
This is worrying! I bought some Bluetooth in ear headphone a couple of weeks ago for running, worn them once, the battery bit flaps about too much for running, I need to try some different ones but they need to be noise isolating.

I’ve got some Sony noise cancelling cans and I’m very impressed with them, might have a look at the WF-1000X. Thanks for the help chaps!
I have a pair of these:

Just on the off chance I stumble into the duty free area before my flight next week, what headphones would everyone recommend? Probably no more than £100 because I don't really use them that much. Either in ear or over head is perfect and the louder the better!

Arrived today.

App doesn't work on my S8+ (actually it's something about the Bluetooth in the device because the phone doesn't even find it). Seems a common complaint, but I dug out my old S5 and that worked so will play with the settings at some point.

Initially, even getting it moving seemed tricky. After about 20 mins I managed to get to the end of my garden - albeit having zero control over which direction it was going.
However, that changed after about half an hour.

I've spent about 90 mins on it at most, and can now take it to the end of the road, turn around without stopping and pull up again outside my house. I was expecting that to take much longer to learn.

I've already reached the end of useful learning in my garden, and don't want to practice too much on my road - even though it has very little traffic. I will find a quiet office estate or something similar at the weekend and get some proper practice in.

First impressions after a couple of hours : it's brilliant!

I’ve got a pair of the MDR-1000Xs. Love them.

I also had a pair of leophile zero neckband noise cancellers which did a very good job and sounded superb - hence the frivolity. I’ve gifted those to a mate.

Once I’d worn the Sony’s to the gym a couple of times it was a no brainier. They are ideal for it.
I’ve got the same ones, they are great on the train and plane

STOP IT! I have been similiarly tempted - and often visit Shackleton Barracks (well, ex-barracks) for work. One of those seems great for a rip around the place without crashing my Jeep too often.
It also has a listed aircraft hangar - something to do with it being big and cantilevered, I think.
"In 1955, RAF Ballykelly was home to three squadrons of Shackletons, 204 Squadron, 206 Squadron and 240 Squadron. These were housed in the huge Ballykelly Cantilever Hangar which was more than 700 feet wide and 130 feet deep"

It's brilliant for pretending you are 19 years old again and doing donuts in, I could set up an electric unicycle slalom/assault course with all the junk wood lying around... cool

I’d have an educated guess that your S8 is a Bluetooth 5 device, and your new toy doesn’t play nice with Bluetooth 5.
A few of the early implementations of the stack were problematic.

Your S5 will be Bluetooth 4.0/4.2
