I would like to thank this thread as when I started reading it a while ago something jumped out as "I have to have one of those" and one finally came up on ebay and purchased. Absolutely frivolous, I can justify it with "it'll be great in the snow" (I live down a lane that doesn't get gritted) but not really ...

Yep me too!

I used to have a road legal Yamaha raptor quad which was great fun in the snow!

Need more details of the buggy, always fancied one of them too!

Good shout! Being a bit picky, but isn't the spare wheel unnecessarily high?

Maybe frivolous (but really more a case of me exhibiting bellend levels of impatience and stupidity)...

Ordered a diagnostic tool for the car, only noticing afterwards that it needs a 64bit laptop, my current diag laptop is probably something that Fred Flintstone used to type up his last CV on, and - quelle surprise - is only equipped with a 32bit CPU.

So, onto Amazon - find a cheap refurbished HP Elitebook with a 4th gen i5, 8gb ram, SSD, bingo - that will do me nicely, I used to work with them and my current kit is HP so if I'm grotesquely lucky, my existing charger will work fine as a spare too!

Bought it, and thought nothing much else until breaking the prime cardinal law of online purchasing: checking the same item a day later... It had dropped by £9 or so, but was also on prime next-day delivery. The original one was 3-4 days standard, so won't be here until midweek. I click cancel, and buy the cheaper one with prime delivery.

Roll on until about 4:55, and an email comes through - "We weren't able to cancel your order as it has already been dispatched"... bugger, said I. No matter, I'll just cancel the one with prime delivery and suck it up. Clicks cancel and an hour later, another email... "We weren't able to cancel your order as it has already been dispatched"... bugger and feck...

So now I'm waiting for not one, but two laptops to be delivered. Not to mention that the original diagnostic tool - despite being from a seller who sounded like they're from the EU is actually on the slow boat from Shenzhen and won't be here until the middle of the month!

A poor show for my frivolity frown

laugh

Although some ANC Bluetooth headphones would be pretty good to use with a buggy like that tongue out

I decided to buy a polishing machine and some bits to go with it, I originally wanted a battery machine if possible but have seen there aren't many good ones out yet, so decided on a mains one with extension lead instead.

I suppose it might be frivolous depending how much I actually use it, my main concern is I don't screw it up and ruin my paint somehow! Its a DA one so hopefully that helps lower that risk...

Those AmazonBasics cloths are fine for cleaning your bathroom but not your paint. You should be using a 70/30 mix to ensure you don't mar your paint.

Really?

The reviews I’ve seen online for them related to cars seem good, surely for just removing leftover polish from the machine they should be fine?

I’ve not opened the package yet but will see how they feel, been thunder storms here all day so no chance of testing it yet...

Trying really hard not to buy this:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bw-space-uuv-...

Keep almost buying it but then remember I dont live in Sydney anymore and the only water near me is the Thames and this would be absolutely crap there.

Would be awesome to take with me on our next diving trip and I wish I had it when I was at GBR.

Instead, I just got one of these:

Buying it to play with in the bath would certainly be frivolous biggrin

The price was borderline tolerable but the eight quid on top for shipping to UK tipped the balance of favour.

It's really neat tech though - I am impressed!
