The YouTube gameplay videos can’t prepare you for what a great experience the oculus quest gives. It really is fantastic and I was shocked the first time I tried one.

'kin hell. Between this thread, the eastern tat thread and readers cars sections i'm about to be bankrupt.

I haven't ordered an Oculus Quest...... yet....

I'm reading through but assume it has internal storage / processing to make it do what it does?
Yes. It is a standalone device, with it's own computer built in basically. Unlike other VR headsets, it doesn't need to be connected to a PC. It is all wireless too.

I haven't played computer games for probably 30 years now, but having read up and watched multiple YouTube vids, I really can't wait. As the other poster says too, I am sure that watching vids doesn't compare to the real experience.

The release of the product had passed me by completely until I saw the others posting about it this week on here. After doing research, it really does seem to be an absolute game-changer, and at this price, a bit of a bargain.

I'm honestly not the sort of person to just drop 400 quid on a whim, let alone on something that I haven't even tried out, but in this case, I am pretty convinced.

ETA: The company is owned by Zuckerberg and Facebook, and it looks like support and development in terms of updates and new software is pretty comprehensive. In other words, it doesn't look like it's going to be this year's fad which just dies out (think 3D TV sets) and will be supported heavily for a long time.

Whoops bought some more Wera tools!

Not helping.

I have a “Wera tools” wish list (and a Bahco tools one. And a Teng tools one. And a few others) on Amazon. I am trying to be sensible and not spend money.

As I said, not helping. I’ve managed to resist. So far.

I’ve bought a 5.11 “Range bag” for £55 from a watch site with a sales forum (TZ-UK, they don’t restrict sales to only watches). The last time I shot anything was about 1989/90 when I was in the Royal Navy.

I have no need for this bag. It’s too big for a carry on and the sides are rigid, rather than floppy. On the plus side, it does have lots of pockets, a little removable bag for “collecting brass” and another removable insert, with Velcroed in dividers, which is apparently for magazines (the gun type, not the “gentleman’s art pamphlet” type).

On the same day, I also bought an actual watch from the same forum. It’s got a step counter function, which will be particularly useful while I’m still on crutches. Two and a half years almost and counting... it does connect by Bluetooth, so I’ll be able to use it for “stuff”. It was only £60 though.

Of course, now there’s an actual watch I actually want for sale, for £130. I know that kind of money means nothing to powerfully built stair dominating PH director types, but I’m trying not to spend money at the moment... if only I hadn’t just bought an utterly pointless watch and an even more pointless bag. fksake.

I really don’t know what it is that keeps compelling me to buy more and more Wera tools.

I have a new RC 1/8 Car model build to start, and convinced myself I needed some quality nut spinners to make sure no marks were left on the nuts and bolts for the build.

Turns out that this set doesn’t cover most of the actual size nuts and bolts in the kit!

Doh!

Of course what that now means is I am looking for other model tool sets.

This is getting dangerous.

Looks like it would make a decent camera bag if you want another hobby you could spend a fortune on hehe

Yes of course it would be ideal for that.

I don't have the space ( or funds) for something larger. I love the vivid red of this particular one, and have been pondering it for ages, I need it because of reasons..
My other half thinks i need to give my head a wobble.
Thoughts?

As the old saying goes "careful what you wish for" I'm now regretting asking for pictures. That's a lot cheaper than I was expecting! I wonder what results I'll get if I search Wish for Soviet Missile? I think I best go to bed before things get silly.

I clicked that link and soon found myself looking at all sorts of decommissioned pistols and rifles... that’s a dangerous site!
