Yep I have both a HoBao and several Kyosho kits too.

The HoBao is a 1/8 ready to run buggy which has been great, I upgraded it to a two speed gearbox on the venture diff too, which makes a big difference to the top speed.

The other 1/8 I have is an ancient Kyosho Inferno MP6 sports which was based on the Inferno MP7 race buggies from back in the day.

It’s still on very good nick, despite being probably nearly 20 years old.

If I was going to buy a basher for fun again it would probably be one of these HoBao truggies.

I have started collecting 1/2 race lids like these.

I don’t need them. I can’t display them anywhere. They are not cheap. I have two more due for delivery this week.

I have also bought a lot of Lego....

I'd be very careful leaving that jetwash in there over winter, mine froze and the plastic internals disintegrated! Other than that , great work.
Thanks, it’s a K4 which allegedly has metal internals so I’m hoping it will be fine

Spend loads on stuff in the past few weeks during the lockdown. Woolrich Arctic Parka, Nintendo Switch with Pokemon Go and Ringfit, travel case for the Switch, CP Company shorts, 2 pairs of trainers (adidas Trimm Trabs and adidas Jeans) and now I'm looking at motorbikes aswell. You only live once I guess!

My son in law collects these, but he works for a team so his are all driver signed. Cannot express the levels of jealousy when I look in his display cabinet.
Not cheap things at all.

Those three cost me best part of £350......

Signed lids are ridiculously expensive so I don’t even consider them.

If your son in law has any signed lids he doesn’t want/need please ask him to let me know & maybe I can send him some money in exchange for a signed lid.

So, I've just bought a Wowtac A6 18650 torch that has a max power of 1400 Lumens but only for 2 minutes. but is small. only 4 inches.

And I've bought a Wowtac A7 18650 torch that is only 1047 Lumens but is bigger. 5 inches.

My hope is that I can make a Frankenlight that is approx 1000 Lumens, but the same size as the A6.

Annoyingly the A6 goes from 400 to 1400 Lumens with no step in between, hence my project.

1000 Lumens is about the sweet spot between illumination & battery life.

I chose Wowtac because the batteries have a micro USB port on them, so you don't necessarily need a charger. Just a cable.

Each torch was 30 quid each . so potentially 60 quid for one good torch & one very bright, but pretty crap torch.

Frivolous?

I had a Wowtac A1S. Pretty much perfect. 18650. 3400mAh. USB rechargeable but I lost it.

I have a Wowtac A2 Headtorch. 18650 but only 2600 mAh. bother.

Of course it gets a bit expensive when you add all the decent boys you need to get it fully built and ready to race!

Still way too expensive for a casual purchase.

I want something like this but much faster, preferably a renault 4.

He won't part with anything biggrin
They get a couple of things they can have signed a year and usually he gets something for himself and then alternates years between me and his Dad. I had a dual signed photo last year, if I'd thought on at the time I'd have got a helmet signed. Maybe next year!
The drivers can be generous and often gift these as well, and model cars to thank the staff.

Chances of parting him with any of this is zero lol

If you're spending that, go down the 2 stroke route. This sits in my garage at the moment:

Less than £500 for everything you need, and it's got a 30cc 2 stroke engine. No messing about with Nitro and starters etc. it's 1/5 scale and bloody huge!

A parcel just arrived addressed to my wife.

However she said I could open it as it was for me

I’m pretty happy with this:

I got my son the moody kit for the new-shape Defender for Christmas. It's bloody brilliant! Really good quality.

£55. And a 'delivered in 8 days' guarantee too. After 14 days I appealed to Ali Express who refunded my money. It arrived the next day biggrin
Pretty shameless thing to do in the middle of a pandemic. I ordered a voltage stabiliser for a car from aliexpress. That was 10 day guarantee. After three weeks it hadn't arrived and I got in touch with them but felt a complete ares doing so because the obvious answer was obvious. It finally arrived after nearly a month

Being happy that deliveries are suffering in a pandemic so you get free stuff is st.

I take it all back if you paid up after.
