Built to last?

I have a tractor which was built 41 years ago, it still runs as well as the day it was made, it's not rusting, it never breaks down, it's had a hard working life though, everything about it says quality/durability. Nothing is plastic or flimsy. I will be very surprised if it's not still going strong in 100 years provided it's kept in a shed and given an oil change every so often. It'll outlast me, and I bet a penny to a pound it will outlast most modern tractors.

I bought a set of saucepans about 12 years ago, not expensive, about £50.
Nothing's gone wrong with them.
Set of 3 Mayer saucepans - 18 years old and still rocking. In fact showing no more signs of wear than they did after the first 18 months, despite being used constantly in that time.Nothing's gone wrong with them.

My STELLA stainless steel cafeteria. Owned for 10+ years, used daily and it still looks and works as if I bought it today.
My Meindl dessert boots. Owned for 3 years and worn every working day. Other than dirt marks they're still as new.
My Paul Smith wallet. This has surprised me...3-4 years of continuous daily use. The stitching is all there and still holds it's original shape.

iPhone quality went down with iPhone 5. iPhone 4/4s very well made.
They all seem to do that movie sugar glass thing. nearly everyone I know with an iphone seems to have a broke screen. which is odd when I think about the punishment I've given millions cellphones over 20 years, repeated drops, drops over 20 feet, concrete glass etc that the only inadvertent cracked screen (case) was a special loan-phone of some kind from carphone warehouse while they pretended to repair my paid for phone that was under you guessed it- a damage deposit... snapped under gentle pressure when it was in my pocket and I bent over (a position familiar to CW customers)lufbramatt said:
I've been pretty impressed with my mobile. It's a HTC Desire HD, and is now well over 4 years old, all still works perfectly. Took a gamble a couple of years ago by swapping to a sim-only contract and glad I did, saved myself a fortune in new mobile phones I don't need.
One of my DSLR bodies is 10 years old and still going strong (Nikon D70s).

Most of my hifi (mixture of Quad and Linn separates) is 15-20 years old and still stands up well to new stuff. Future proofed with a little Bluetooth box for streaming from my ipad.
My old VW Passat is 25 years old and done 270000 miles, that a bit of a triggers broom though so Don't think it counts, guess the main thing is the shell hasn't succumbed to rust yet

I replaced a 30 year old Potterton boiler a few years back and halved my oil bill!!!
I think it's G rated? Apparently, according to the servicing bloke that comes yearly he's commented on how cleanly it's burning the gas.
I found an old pocket watch of my dads the other week, and a couple of twists, and it sprung back into life. It's got to be 60+ years old!
My iron from Jan 1995, bought when I was in the army, used twice week still going strong.
One of the early atomic radio controlled alarm clock bought circa 1997, still going strong.
my 1996 G-Shock DW-8200 frogman, still going strong although the resin parts had to be changed recently.
