Riga?
 fabulous place.
I’m there (here) too. Although it was vodka last night - excellent Russian restaurant, and red wine tonight. And it’s dark so no views, hence no pics smile

It's a beautiful Portuguese town with some fantastic restaurants. The people are incredibly friendly and it is and always has been a great place for families.
Maybe not every family...

If you like beer try the Kwak Inn. Great selection of Belgian and Trappist beers.

That was my point. smash The town took a big hit after the McCanns and it was sad to see. I've been going to the Algarve all my life and while I've never stayed in PdL, I regularly went visited as one of my favourite restaurants is there. Went the year after McCann and it was very surreal. While things have improved a lot it will always have that hanging over it to some degree.

As for Sagres/Super Bock, I have had plenty of both laugh I think it's probably because SB is so much more prevalent that I like to have Sagres when I can.

My grandparents emigrated to the Algarve in 1981 (two years before I was born), and lived between Praia da Luz and Burgau on Montinhos da Luz, then later in Luz itself... So I've spent a great deal of time in that little town.

In fact the point in my photo above is where my Nan's ashes are, looking out over the town - and my grandfather is in the Luz cemetery.

What happened when Maddie went missing turned a sleepy resort into a media circus overnight - it destroyed the town, and its tourism for years. frown

Anyway... More beers. This time outside the clubhouse at Boavista Golf, which is where my place is.

Are you sure? Looks a lot like a view of the Atlantis Hotel on the Palm in Dubai (maybe taken from one of the hotels on the outer frond (Waldorf, Anantara or Rixos)). I would not bet money on it though.

Braver than me, Tiger Beer is ropey stuff....
I don’t actually mind Tiger too much, most importantly it was cold and wet (and ultimately blended with a load of Heinekenbiggrin).

Looks like it. I recognise the bridges and this

Too many beers, not too sure of the view?

I took this during the last week of the school hols, whilst I took my sons around the North Coast 500. We were wild camping on the Beach at Loch Lomond. Cost of camping permit £3. Cost of Bud Light four pack £3.50. View: Priceless.

After four nights wild camping - and a four hour drive around the NC500 in a Ford Transit with two teenagers and subsequent camp prep - meant literally anything remotely beery was an absolute delight.
