would have thought the ECU would have been programmed to deal with it if it was a genuine problem. He's almost certainly remapped it so maybe the tuner didn't include something in the code to deal with it.
Yeah, load of nonsense IMO. Cars have had knock detection since the 90s, the ecu will dial back the advance (and I'd imagine the boost) if it's detected. As if a standard engine is going to be so badly set up as to pink under load these days.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Nuq1Vx9S4
