As breathtaking to watch now as it was back then, thanks for posting.
I had a guy who worked for me in Plymouth who had been one of the teams that took part in this event. He showed me a tattoo that he said all the guys had and many had the tips of fingers missing from the practice they did for week after week to get it right.
He was without doubt the hardest fittest man I knew at the time,

Wow, that is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.RUF video - Yellowbird v Countach v Vantage v Testarossa. Newly made, but as they say - wonderfully 80's. Also - Balboni driving a Ferrari is amusing. https://www.facebook.com/RUF.Automobile.GmbH/video...

I know it takes skill to make it look easy, but how accessible is that? How likely are you to end up splattered? It's got to be a ton more forgiving than say wingsuits.
I learned a couple of years back and flying up to the clouds, skimming the mountains of the lake district etc is really very accessible. But playing near the ground like he does is generally a good way to end up broken. He's an experienced acrobatic pilot, in the top few % in the world in terms of skill and hours flown per year. This year, there have been 3 air ambulance lifts from my local hill, a couple of badly busted legs and a spinal injury. It's about the same as horse riding or rock climbing, as far as accident rates go I believe.
Flying amongst the clouds sat on what is basically a swing is amazing though.
