No affiliation but if you always fancied it but were too scared, these northern lads are worth a watch.

Obviously extremely dangerous and should not be condoned whatsoever, however the one video I watched where they were checking for gas (fire damp?) by using a lighter did have me chuckling with my serious face on..

Edit: They're predominantly coal mines in that area of Lancashire / Yorks.

Edit: They're predominantly coal mines in that area of Lancashire / Yorks.
There are quite a few caving clubs oop north that you can join if you fancy doing it for real.

In the absence of a gas monitor, which are expensive, give too many falses and are hard to calibrate, we still resort to the old lighter.
