Asked to leave swimming pool
Discussion
Should have politely asked the uneducated lifeguard, how he would suggest you teach/encourage your child how to swim from one parent to the other (as is common practice at this age)when one of them is missing, Stand back and wait for his head to explode whilst he processes the problem. And to think this clown was responsible for you and your loved ones safety !!!!

Compensation for "hurt feelings".
Should be good for at least 10 million...
Personally I would have told him to do one.... The world's gone mad.
Not the world just the UKShould be good for at least 10 million...

A few years ago we took the kids to a Disney hotel In Florida , the kids were in the pool so I thought I'd take some pictures of them, then the " daren't take a picture of children " fear came out so I went and asked the lifeguard if I was allowed to take pictures
Pictures of what, your kids, of course you can , why wouldn't you be allowed to take pictures of your kids
Because in Britain if you take a photo of your kids at a pool somebody with camera phone you, put it on Facebook then a load of people will kick your front door in and lynch you
It's Britain that's gone mad

The admission policy for the swimming pool which includes the separate Pirate Ship area was written following an extensive and detailed risk assessment process as required by HSG 179 Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools. Guidance from bodies such as the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management and the Royal Lifesaving Society was also considered and prior to the admissions policy being put into operation, the policy was reviewed and approved by specialist health and safety consultants.
Whereas we genuinely understand the disappointment you felt in this situation; we must emphasise how important it is for our staff to adhere to the admission policy at all times, even during periods where the area might be very quiet. Ultimately the policy is put in place with the safety of our patrons in mind which we are sure you can appreciate.

Post it up on here. That makes no sense.

I can't think of one genuine H&S reason why 2 adults couldn't attend with 1 child.
It effectively precludes a couple with one child attending the pool.
Perhaps when it's very busy during the summer I can see the advantage of restricting the number of adults to maximise the number of kids, but that isn't anything to do with health and safety.

I spelled out exactly what happened and asked why they had that rule in place, it couldn't have been clearer. Next up I'm contacting the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management to see what they think of it, as apparently the policy was drawn up in consultation with them.
Utterly bizarre.
