BREAKING NEWS!! bullst.

Just clicked on a BBC link in the 'council'
The council thread is a load of BS to be honest. Brings out some of the worst people of PH.

Makes for amusing reading nonetheless.

People proudly proclaiming their ignorance of something.

One of my younger, hipper, friends made a reply to a Facebook post and used a slang word that is currently "down with the kids" that I didn't recognise, so I calmly went onto Urban Dictionary and looked it up without making a fuss about it.

The PistonHeads way, of course, would have been to proclaim "what the bloody 'eck doth that mean?" or "I'm proud that I have no idea what you are talking about".

However, unlike some posters here on PH, I am never proud of ignorance. I might look something up and say "oh, I have no interest in this" or "I really wish I could un-see that" but I'd never be proud of being ignorant.

What the fk is an Urban Dictionary? A dictionary is a collection of definitions, "urban" would be but a single entry.

Bloody yoot'.

It's not really important, and would also probably derail the thread. smile

Derail the thread? It's probably the most undirected thread on the forum.

Is it the lack of thread direction or not knowing the word that annoys you?

Doesn't matter how carefully you arrange the contents of the dishwasher, you open up the fker and there's a plastic dish right-way up full of watery gunge.

Oh, and another one, loading up the washing machine and just as it starts the cycle you find a sock lying on the bedroom floor. Same with the aforesaid dishwasher, finding a cup lurking in the corner after the fker has started washing.

Replacement shoelaces.

I need some, as our cats had decided to chew through the old laces and snap them off.

But can I find the right pair of laces amongst the otherwise full range of shoelaces on offer in either Sainsburys or Waitrose? No. All I want is some 75cm black round laces but they only appear to do 75cm in brown. So I am making do just about with the 60cm version but they're not as good.

Amazon is seemingly useless for this - they will sell them to me, but only for £6.50 when the same item in town is marked on the shelf as £1.50, even though they don't have it.

What really annoys me beyond all reason is somebody going on about shoelaces when all we want to know is:
