Lack of capitalisation of names/places when it's required. Hollywood are increasingly guilty of this. Boils my piss every time I see it. The latest example being shown below.
Quite common in the arts world. Album / book covers. Playbills and general advertising, all using lower case for titles and names.fking trehugging morons who assume anyone drilling into the ground is fracking. A case in point being drilling work on the beach at Bispham near Blackpool - it's not like there isn't a huge, well publicised project nearby to build a new sewage plant and outfall pipe which will be buried under the beach - but noooo, the idiots get themselves all stirred up saying they are fracking
People who get "i.e." and "e.g." mixed up.
You seem to see a lot of people posting "i.e." when they mean "e.g.".
I've taken to correcting people now, it irritates me so much. I put it in a similar category to the "would of / could of" brigade, in that it's clear they don't actually understand the words / language they are using, so I find it hard to give any credence to anything they write.
You even see it in newspaper articles.
For those unaware:
"I.e. and e.g. are both abbreviations for Latin terms. I.e. stands for id est and means roughly "that is." E.g. stands for exempli gratia, which means “for example.”

The fact that Channel 4 yesterday split the F1 into three programmes on the EPG (on Sky, council I know), therefore meaning I have to record three separate programmes and have each one stop in a random place because they don't have it as three separate programmes on the broadcast. I then have to go into the planner and select the next one, then fast forward it past bits I've just seen because the recording overlaps...

Nope. Just get annoyed beyond reason by people who don't understand the language and words they are using.
Meaning is use? Arm chair language geeks annoy me beyond reason. Equally those who use logic and/or science in discussions on any given topic, infuriating.

Games aimed at young children (on the tablet) that need internet access (beyond the initial download of additional game files).
Internet access is turned off on their tablets for very good reasons, if your game needs it it's not getting installed. It annoys me beyond all reason however because I then have to deal with the fall out of explaining why they can't have their game.

Sky do that too, with their F1 coverage. However I find it quite useful. I hardly ever watch the race live. So depending on the time I have available I can easily skip much of the preamble and begin watching closer to the start of the race. zarjaz1991 said:

When you want to record a few programmes in one evening which are on different channels, the notice to "cancel a recording" because of an overlap is annoying at 9.58 when you are wanting to record a programme at 10, just because you are watching one programme and recording a second that both finish at 10, when in reality, both these programmes actually finish at around 9.56.

They have worked it out: it's called Sky Q. You can record four (I think) channels simultaneously which would allow for overlaps while watching a different channel to any and all that you're recording.
That's not really working it out though. It's just throwing more horsepower at the situation. It's like "fixing" inefficient code by running it on a more powerful computer.

Yes. I actually have them coming to install that next week thanks to a freebie offer that I got. It will solve that problem but there will probably come a time when every show I want to watch is on all at the same time anyway.I am sure they must be able to get the recording to start at the time when the programme starts, not halfway through the advert break, or at the end of the previous show. E.g. when I was recording Top Gear, and had also recorded Robot Wars. I watched Top Gear first as I was more interested in it, with a view to watching Robot Wars at my leisure. But the TG recording included the last 2 minutes of Robot Wars, meaning I knew the winner before I actually watched the show.

Ironically for someone like myself who don’t actually watch that much TV, Sky Q is the best thing. I can record whole series and other programs I might be interested in and watch them as and when I feel like it.
Re the overlap problem. Start the recorded program, immediately pause the programme, then press and hold the right arrow until you reach the time you want to start watching from then press OK. It's also a quick way of skipping adverts because you just need to pause when the ad break comes on the press the right arrow 4 or 5 times and you've skipped the break in about 5 seconds.
