I'll get flamed for this, but the total obsession by the motoring media with oversteer and going sideways. It's utterly, utterly irrelevant on congested British roads.
I saw a bloke drift a flatbed truck round a wet roundabout in Basingstoke yesterday.

Spect.
I've been a passenger in a 30 ton tipper that was sideways, hilarious.

Work colleagues, or specifically colleague who has just been on a rant about our 1% payrise that has just been announced, at least it is an increase.

He has spent the last 20 minutes claiming he deserves at least 7 or 8% with no basis to back this up, despite the fact that he is usually the bottleneck in the department and saying how he is going to go home now and spend the rest of the afternoon on Linked in to "get what he deserves"
We've just had ours. The usefull staff all appreciated getting something. The useless and millennials have been whining.

Our current roll of clingfilm, where the cutting edge has become detached from the box, rendering it less "cutting edge", more "ripping the clingfilm into random, useless shapes that are far too big/far too small to cover the item you want to clingfilm".

Perhaps some sort of tray might alleviate your annoyance? silly
Hasn't he got enough to carry?

Retired people using the recycling centre at the weekends. The place is only open 9 – 5 midweek (9 to 4 during winter). So Saturdays and Sundays is the only time working folk have the chance to clear out stuff, garden waste and so on. Yet I see lots of clearly retired old codgers cluttering up the place when they could easily visit during the week when it’s less busy.
Garden centres are just as bad for this! irked

Top tip: Waitrose 'essentials' food wraps (cling film, foil, baking paper etc) are just awesome. And I don't say that from being a 'trose fanboi, I fking detest the st wk company, but those products... I wouldn't buy anyone else's now.

People who think they're better than everyone else and should be able to dictate when others use facilities that they want to just so they can have them all to themselves whenever they decide they want to use them.

At the (significant) risk of going all mumsnet the Asda stuff/dispenser is very good. One thing to avoid is the longest in any size. The film is OK but the durability of cutters never seems to match.

The flipside is why on earth would a retired person *want* to visit the tip at the busiest time when it will be much quieter in the week? One can only presume that they are there at that busy time because they need to be.

Contemporary parents being the worst example.

Perhaps they were doing something else on those other days and that was the day they were free to go the tip? Who knows, but just because you're retired it doesn't mean you should organise your life around what everyone else might be doing for their benefit.

Absolutely. I was agreeing with you, not disagreeing. I was postulating that the reason they were there at the time so inconvenient to the OP was because that was the time that worked for them as presumably they wouldn't bother going at a busy time if it was more convenient for them to go at a less busy time.

As a 'retired' person, I avoid doing anything when it'll be busy due to being used by 'other' people, common sense.
I want the easy life, so these other 'old s' must either be thick as st or ignorant s.

No but you might organize your life around what everyone else might be doing for your own benefit.

The general election.

90%of people know how they are going to vote, so why have months of campaigning, it won't make naff all difference to the outcome.

So parliament gets dissolved for 8 weeks while this goes on, the new term starts and then they will all sod off on holiday until October

Just get on with governing the country and if we have to have an election can we not do it 3 weeks in this digital age?

Very true. But at least it's only 2 months rather than the 2 years for a US Presidential Election.
