People wanting a Buy it now price for auction items I’m selling on eBay.
Most of them seem as dodgy as fk and can’t even put a simple question together in a coherent manner. If I wanted to sell the thing buy it now I would have offered that way.
Totally agree - it annoys me too. Most of them seem as dodgy as fk and can’t even put a simple question together in a coherent manner. If I wanted to sell the thing buy it now I would have offered that way.
I tend to only use auctions for stuff where I know it will be popular and will have people bidding against each other, in which case there is absolutely no point in a Buy it Now price. Besides, the moment someone makes a bid on an auction the Buy it Now option is lost (but eBay will still pocket the extra listing fee).
These days I mostly tend to sell stuff on a 30 day "Buy It Now, Offers Accepted" basis, and it can sit there until someone makes a sensible offer. If someone makes a piss-take offer, I will respond with a sensible counter-offer. If they come back with a second piss-take I just decline it without comment.

Oh yes, there are some numpties on there Most of them seem as dodgy as fk and can’t even put a simple question together in a coherent manner. If I wanted to sell the thing buy it now I would have offered that way.
Recently had someone ask about some brake pads I have for sale - despite the word 'rear' being prominent on both the title and description, he asked 'are they front or rear' He then went on to offer less than 1/3rd of the asking price and seemed surprised when I didn't accept his offer

Best one I ever had was someone emailing me offering to do me a favour and take it off my hands there and then - for less than the current highest bid, And there were 10 bids from 3 bidders who clearly were going to bid it even higher, and several days left to run. There does seem to be a direct correlation between an inability to write legible English and a propensity to ask for a 'buy it now' price. Most of them seem as dodgy as fk and can’t even put a simple question together in a coherent manner. My annoyance from today.
Amazon and their ridiculous packaging.
I ordered a microsd card from amazon and even opted for fuss-free packaging. I expected a slim package, maybe a folded envelope type thing.
What should I get in the post? a box that's big enough to stuff 5-6 dvd/bluray/video game cases into. The entire thing was filled up with their packing paper. my microSD card didn't even come in it's original packaging but a smaller one. the packaging was smaller than any london oyster card or regular credit/debit card. its a good thing i was home as they couldn't put it through the letter box but had to knock on the door.
it makes no sense.
and yes, it was sold directly from amazon.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Amazon over the years, and sometimes I get the comedy packaging you describe but more often I get sensible packaging. and yes, it was sold directly from amazon.
I've come to the conclusion that it must be down to the warehouse, the packer, what packaging they have to hand, and how much of a st they give (or how mischievous they are).

Or maybe someone has typed in the wrong dimensions into a computer? I assume a computer calculates which box it goes into.I've come to the conclusion that it must be down to the warehouse, the packer, what packaging they have to hand, and how much of a st they give (or how mischievous they are).

That's really quite extreme. Someone must have done that for a bet surely. It's not the first time, either.
