Ooh I got gifted Heat also, not got around to playing it yet though. My wife got Wingspan, I've heard good things about that one too.

Can't comment on modern ones. Don't mind Cluedo. Monopoly can cause too much grief amongst the ultra-competetive.

Best avoided, unless you are playing them with kids.

Otherwise board games are for under 13s and adults who are a bit special.

It would seem the only one that’s special is you replying to a thread you have no interest or knowledge of.

Has "Battlesheep" been mentioned?

Bought this for my mum a year or two back. Simple game but requires a lot of strategy. It's a fairly quick game too. About 20mins, and never gets repetitive as the board is different every game.

Gets quite competitive!

It takes a kind of special to post that kind of thing in a thread like this too.

To the person asking about wingspan. I’d recommend watching a YouTube how to play- reading the instructions made me want to give up before I had started.

Takes a special kind of special to get wound up about someone elses opinion.

Now get back to your tiddlywinks.

Wow, that pic brought back some memories.
Cluedo: we have a recent version of this. Played every Christmas when everyone is at home.

Cards Against Humanity is our offensive “go to”, with daughters in their early 29s the usual winners. Filthy minds, the pair of them. I blame their mother. wink

Quite funny that you posted about yourself in a thread about bullying:

There was a truly horrible who got away with all sorts at school. He took great delight in making certain peoples life as miserable as possible for the following reasons :

1) For no reason other than his own amusement.
2) in his owns words : 'he felt like it'.

Truly loathsome indvidual. If I ever saw him drowning, I would be in two minds whether to chuck him a block of concrete or just sit & watch him sink.

If you can find an old one... good family games

Formula One: Better than the real thing now.
GO: The International travel game
Chartbusters: Make a record & hit the charts
(Love the old cars that are used in place of dice... or just invent your own to be a bit more modern)

Well done on taking the time to scroll through on historical posts.

Presumably for YOUR own amusement then, Bullyboy?

I know this is a troll post, but starting with “can’t comment on modern ones” and then proceeding to comment on modern ones is, to coin a phrase, a bit special.

Cluedo & Monopoly were mentioned. Didn't mention modern ones.

You are very welcome smile

Does Chess count?
Otherwise none. Don't own any.

Not sure if mentioned but Monopoly Go, a card game, is strangely addictive and enjoyable.

A lot quicker than full blown Monopoly as you get a winner quicker but be warned, one game is never enough………..

Have been playing Codenames over the last few names. Basic premise is using a single word to describe one or more other words on a 5x5 grid to your team mates with a view to them spotting multiple answers from a single clue. Quite good fun.

Codenames is brilliant fun. We tried the "rude" version, where all the words are on a very adult theme, but I had no idea what half the words meant laugh

Had stratego as a child and loved it...very clever premise.

PS - don't feed the troll.
