Where do you buy your suits ?

Having trouble getting a suit for my 16yr old to wear to prom , he needs a 35" leg and this has not been a problem with a jacket and blazer but a suit is needed on this occasion. A 42l jacket and 35" trouser will do , any suggestions especially with online stuff. Dont really want to use High and Mighty as they are a bit of a rip off

M&s do 35" leg. Also some suits come open ended so that they can be tailored to the right length.

http://www.cj-antich.com/

They have a sales shop and many of the trousers are unhemmed, if thats the right word, they take up the hem to suit (pardon the pun) the wearer.

Prices are also low.

These people are pretty good, I've been buying stuff from them for years. It's mostly for fatties but there is plenty of stuff for persons of the tall persuasion, like what I am.

I cant find a suit that anyone under the age of 40 would like in m&s , we usually get his trousers and blazers there though

I tend to find Jeager suits do the job nicely. I have the same inside leg measurement, but slightly bigger jacket size. You can get a decent suit for £150 ish. There are outlet stores across the uk. I just order online for shop delivery. If its not right, or you dont like it, the shop returns it for you

Charles Tyrwhitt do long lengths and slim fits and an unfinished length on trousers - my most recent suit purchase was from there with a couple of pairs of trousers and a little local shop just stitched the legs up for a few quid

The matching waistcoat would ideally have been a bit longer for me but no problem with jacket or trousers

Slaters have an excellent range of suits and cover a good range of larger sizes.

I got a 40L jacket, 36 inside leg suit from TM Lewin, at their outlet shop in Swindon, but they have a website as well.

I get mine made for me, (6ft 8") I generally cannot get much off the peg due to my size. I have a guy that comes over from Thailand every 3 months and goes around the city taking orders (is coming to my flat on 9th May for me to order a suit + some shirts). Good service and I have had around 5 suits off him over the past 4-5 years. I pay roughly £360 for suit jacket & 2 x trousers, generally last around a year or so in reasonable shape and look good. Fit like a glove/perfectly first time!

I tried Dressed to Kill as my first foray into getting suits made for me, I was not too impressed tbh, but it was for the £250 deal. They took initial measurements and then made it, then came for a fitting and made amendments and then finally I got the suit (lots of faffing about to go in and out of the city for fitting). Guy from Thailand, get measured, he makes the suit then sends to me in 8 weeks and it fits first time with no amendments.

I used to when I was younger get my suits from next, they did up to 35"/37" leg in extra long (cannot remember exactly, but was in the next directory), I then took them to the tailor and got the bottom of the trouser unpicked and then restitched using less material (giving another " or so if required in length)

This, I'm 6'4" and a bit heavy, my son is 6'5" and a lot lighter. Both of us can buy off the peg at Charles Tyrwhitt.
I've bought one suit at High and Mighty in Edinburgh which was fine but I had to pay a premium for being 'not average' when I consider myself to be 'almost normal'

As above TM Lewin and CT do unfinished hems. They will take them up to a specific length for you for £8 or a tailors / dry cleaner place will finish the hems for a few quid.

If you tell them the length Charles Tyrwhitt will finish the trousers.

Very happy customer, just done my first made to measure suit with them.

I've been getting shirts from them for years, and they are honestly one of the best companies I've dealt with ever. Brilliant customer service, fantastic online design tools, really, really good quality (I've been wearing work shirts weekly rotation for 3 years, so easily 120-150 wears each!)

Highly recommended!!!

If that's too much £ if your lad is still growing, then a trip to Slaters if there's one near you.

I'm 6'7 and 34"w 36"l so also find getting clothes difficult. I get all my work shirts from Charles tyrwhitt and find the extra slim fit cut fits perfectly. I just recently bought a nice suit from slaters, there is loads of choice at a good range of budgets. They also tailor the fit for free.
