Surely they only walk over land with public footpaths ?

If/when you buy a house then you find out pre purchase if there's a private footpath going thru your land and if there is there are ways to divert that footpath.
You are allowed to create a permissive right of way, that leads around the property. Alas that does mean you have to keep the original path as well as the permissive one, and give people a choice. And we all know what ***** people can be.

But if ramblers get involved you'll rapidly find out what utter cock sockets they can be.

The walts arguing about queue control was quite amusing at the Air Tattoo yesterday!

Don, that's because you've only done half a job. The completing element is the purchase of a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

I think it was the green car park, didn't notice any vehicles but instantly thought of this thread when one of them barked orders at the crowd and then starting arguing with another, female, walt.

I had to drop someone off at a WW2 themed event a couple of weeks ago, farm fields with Walts controlling parking. They had a great setup for controlling where cars parked, but were completely and utterly bamboozelled when I dropped off my passenger and wanted to go out. (They are disabled and walk quite slow, so wanted to drop them near the queue).
Having only one gate to the field didn't compute with two way traffic. I bet they were also wondering why someone would leave instead of playing dress up for the day.

Were the Walts wearing the usual high viz, or did they get into the spirit of things and manage the traffic dressed as WWII German SS field police?

Think it's safe to say that there's going to be some quality Waltage going on with this lot;

I wonder why they need a child protection officer? eek

I'm not sure if I saw something belonging in here last night, Mitsubishi Delica painted army khaki and with 'Event Vehicle' stenciled along the side. Perhaps there was a legitimate reason for it's existence but I'm struggling to see it.

Pretty much any club which under 18s might attend or join needs one. Also often known as a 'safe guarding officer' as it then covers vulnerable adults as well.

It was the deputy courtesy rides officer that got my attention.

Do you think he's got a game plan to get the big gig?

Seem to recall it is quite a common requirement. Some of the sports teams at uni had to have them too, even though children couldn't join the clubs.

I spotted a new type of walt this week whilst out and about. Train Walt.

He had eschewed his company issue dacron trousers and branded polyester shirt, in favour of knock off police riot gear:- Black combat boots and trousers, utility belt with many pouches and maglite. He was wearing his company Hi-Viz with the title "Train Dispatcher" on the back (I wonder if he thinks he needs a firearm wink )

He was also sporting a radio, and I heard him use the phrase "Comms Check", bearing in mind this a very small rural station with max two members of staff, and a contract cleaner. I can only imagine the radio chatter.

"Code Blue, repeat Code Blue in the Gents Toilet, the paper in trap one is reaching critical"

Made me chuckle and think of this thread.
