Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.

I got a childhood swimming badge for swimming to the bottom of the pool and successfully rescuing a brick whilst dressed in pyjamas.

Am I qualified?
Why was the brick wearing pyjamas?

May I ask how long you served in the police? Did you do the full 35 years, or whatever it is?

Is the HA job just a top up to the pension?

I know it's personal, but I am always interested in other people's careers. I toyed with the idea of joining the police when I came out of the services, but.....
I was Royal Military Police, I did 7 years. I've been in Civvy St. 26 years.

You’re getting confused with badgers again.

I got confused with badgers once.

I think it was the smell and the fact I'd let my beard and nails grow so long.

BossHogg, I’m also ex service police (navy - 29yrs) and now a HETO. Which area are you if you don’t mind me asking (I’m in the south east).

I once towed a group of youths who got stuck on the beach. hey had a rope so i tied it to my tow-bar and ave them the other end. hey went and tied it to the front wishbone and ran the rope under the front bumper. I was sitting in the jeep by this time thankfully. hey told me to drive forward and unsurprisingly it ripped the front bumper off! It was a long couple of months waiting for an insurance claim which thankfully never came! I would think twice about doing it again.

Why would there be a claim against you? It was their error.

Ah yes but in the current climate it’ll be his fault for not pointing out their error to them, or satisfying himself the entire set up was fit for purpose.
If only the Rescue Rangers were around.....

And so in that case, could they end up being liable for such an error, where a regular person doing their best to assist would not be?

Walty McLemonjuice in his badged up Defender saying "I'm with SE4X4CONFLAB BEADWINDOW" doing damage to your car when towing vs "Hey, I saw you were stuck, maybe i can help"?
