What an absolute amateur!

Fingerless mitts? Where's his Gloves, CBRN, Inner? And his Gloves, CBRN, Outer? And his S6 respirator (at the very least)? And his overboots? No respirator haversack, either, so I doubt he's carrying his Fuller's Earth decontamination pads and powder. Absolute mickey mouse amateurism.

On a serious note, the lack of full finger gloves suggests to me that it's a photograph that has been deliberately staged for sts and giggles. Or at least the scene must have been staged, even if the "photographer" wasn't in on the joke...

The gloves may be wrong, but he's definitely on a roll.

The thought of doing my London rounds today, in full NBC did cross my mind, not cos I’m bovered, cos it would be hilarious to be on the tube in full NBC, until I collapsed of heat exhaustion.

Good man. Get it done. It's got to be 3 Romeo or nothing though - no point in any half measures. and definitely try walking down Whitehall past Downing Street in full rig, to get yourself on the news... wink

I've definitely got my old S6 somewhere. And possibly an older training NBC suit. Tony in the stores had no interest in taking back my old 1157 except for my Kevlar, lid and vest. Everything else is in a Bergen (or three) in the garage and for nearly 8 years I've been meaning to sell it or give it all away. Maybe it'll "come in handy" after all???

Still got my S6 as well. I had to do two years reserve service when I left (RN) so you had to keep a lot of your kit. Been in the loft for about 30 years now!

Ah. *Ahem*. As you were, gents, as you were. Mine must be an S10 too. I declined an exchange for a new GSR (General Service Respirator) because I was due out in months and it would be a waste of money/effort issuing me one when I had no intention of sitting through my CBRN ATD test at that point in my discharge process.

"My mistake, your fault..." as my old training SSgt was fond of saying. wink

They're all bugging out in a forest somewhere far from civilisation because they know they are No.1 target for CV19 with their age, rotund statures, dodgy tickers and gout.

I have seen the movies as well, they are the ones that will lead the remnants of humanity to a brighter future by setting up "Safe Compounds" Do not laugh, villages did that in China, exactly that, but unlike the USA, they did not have shed loads of weapons at hand. Expect to see some strange st going on over there. Quite what will happen in the "Law less" less well policed countries like Africa and India/Pakistan I do not know but I expect a religious nut-case (or many) picking this up and causing more damage to humanity.

Our lot will "do it" Ray Mears fashion with a pointy stick sharpened in a fire (lit with two sticks & some diesel.

You may jest but at the end of our garden we have a large field and in the centre is an old Victorian stone quarry hidden in a block of woodland. Last night I watched a Disco 1 tow a caravan through the field and into that wood. It had all the hallmarks of someone setting up a bug out.
