I attended to a heart attack patient at Aintree racecourse during Grand National week many moons ago when I was a volunteer with Merseyside branch of the British Red Cross, there were a bunch of St John volunteers stood round hands in pockets doing sod all to help the casualty!

This girl would be shouldering people out of the way, she is very keen. She probably knows some advanced techniques that St Johns don't know. She did get a bit flustered when I said she was wrong about something and I got proved right.

She has been building up to CPR today, we even did a part of the course yesterday to allow more time on CPR today. I will not be surprised if she tells us she knows how to cure Covid.

Ask if chest compressions are meant to be done to “Stayin’ Alive” or “More Than a Woman”.
I never can remember. Just know it’s a Bee Gees song.

I use Nellie the Elephant but as done by the Toy Dolls. I have never had a problem with that even singing out loud on the tests.

Another One Bites The Dust is Also the right tempo but my local trainers consider it to be in bad taste.

What, and Stayin’ Alive isn’t?
Helps if you only sing it in your head.
Better still, have a defib with built-in metronome wink

''Details outlined in court papers include an allegation that he falsely claimed to have flown 1,610 hours as a captain in a job application submitted to the firm.

He is also accused of giving false details on his CV, including that he had held a private pilot’s licence since 1998, and fabricating documents, including a training course certificate.''

His companies house listing is interesting.

He is the definition of a Powerfully Built Company Director (of many insolvent companies). Sad person, man of straw.

In what way? I've been a first aider since 1984, trained with military and civilian instructors, also a trained assessor myself and now a community first responder for the ambulance service.

One volunteer service looking down on another! It was just a gentle dig smile

To be fair my father was St John's for a while, but left because too many wanted the uniform/organisation over actually helping people.

He also became a first responder which is the complete reverse. No uniform, no blue lights, no badges etc. Just helping until the pro's arrive.

It does indeed. His only active company appears to have files the same results in the last 4 years.

So it's dormant, but he wants to pretend it isn't.

I enjoy being a community first responder, knowing it's my (adopted) home town I'm helping.
