Neither of us are genuinely offended by anything but this does seem very badly thought through. I reckon if I decorated my Porsche in such a way and parked it in the centre of Pozna? there is a good chance someone would decorate it further with a set of keys though. There is still a very anti German sentiment here.
Thats fair enough I can't argue with that. I guess it comes down to knowing your (potential) potential audience doesnt it.

Still a crazy thing to do with ones car (whatever badge it has it)!

One thing i don't get about guys like this and the other Walts. If you're so into the military etc, why not just join the service that appeals ? They can't all be totally unsuitable applicants surely?

My own pet theory on this is that while they run/are part of an 87th emergency service like a 4x4 rescue brigade they are in control, there isn't a proper superior to answer to (for example in the way a Police officer has). In the real world most of these idiots would quite probably end up with a P45. However, as part of a group of other Walts, that isnt going to happen and they get to tell Joe public (which they convieniantly forget they are part of) what to do. Not totally consequence free but there isnt the tiresome job interview or the risk of being turned down etc. They set the rules within their own organisation (or indeed their own heads) . IMHO I do think most of it is about control in someway.

Presumably the ones that are suitable do join some sort of service. So still with walt tendencies but a bit harder to spot.

Spotted some nice flag Walting whilst out today. Apologies for crap shot, but wind direction not in my favour. Got a Union flag, a ‘Lest we forget’ remembrance one, and a rainbow NHS one. Seen some hard service though as getting a bit tatty to be honest. Must need a mighty 4X4 response vehicle to tackle that perilous off-road track too.

You can mock but they are an AWARD winning first aid event cover organisation....

2015 - most useless tat affixed to a utility belt award
2017 - neatest line up of light off road vehicles at a County show
2018 - Best use of reflective decals in class (Dacia Duster)
2019 - least number of members caught breaking restraining orders...

The bizarre thing about this is the guy who runs it has called himself "Lord".

And then it looks like he has not been amazing at safety himself in the past...

A few years back the Red Arrows were displaying at the Dawlish Air Show and staying in the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter. A couple of RM Officers got chatting to them in the Well House Pub attached to the Hotel, and invited them to join them for a few drinks in town. The RAF types enthusiastically agreed and popped upstairs to get changed, re-emerging 15 minutes later in their red flight suits. It's an apocryphal story I heard from a bootneck officer a couple of years ago. If true it's very cringe worthy, but undoubtedly a sure fire way to pick up clunge.
I bet the ladies were all of a quiver.
Presumably the RM officers had gone to get changed into little black dresses and kitten heels.

I go caravanning (which might make me a Walt), and these flag flying type frequent the caravan sites too.
Last year one of them near me had a tall pole flying a plastic seagull above his caravan. Noisy as f**k it was too, I could hear it at night when trying to sleep. Others have regional flags such as the Yorkshire Rose etc. I have no idea why grown men choose to have such things flapping about above their caravans??

Mr Minion is tweeting about someone he claims is walting, but seems have deleted his tweet about being pleased St John's Ambulance acquiring ambulances with auto gearboxes that he'll be able to drive once he passes his driving test

No, I've found the ambulance tweet

Love the "people walting around boil my blood" .....errr.

And what's this about passing his test? Hasn't he got a motability car? Don't tell me he's not entitled to drive it? rofl

He keeps deleting tweets, but he occasionally lets slip that can can only drive an automatic and hasn't passed his driving test.

He's just tweeted the Chief Constable of Northants and a couple of senior officers that he can bring a mug back as he'll be up there shortly on a "patient transfer thing" rofl

He whiffs of Walt. He says he has the order of st johns, which is quite rare and important..

I notice this on a first aid course, a tourniquet has been used, and my basic understanding this should inly ever be used by a trained medic not a first aider as could cause more damage than the cut..

Besides an advanced first training course, can he really call himself a medic?

I did a 5-day St John Ambulance first aid course a couple of years ago, and they did teach us to tightly wrap a bandage for heavy bleeding, and then how to check that circulation wasn't subsequently cut off.

So maybe it depends on the course? It's the only thing like that I've done so I haven't got anything to compare it to.

he doesn't have much chance of driving that for a while. StJohn gets their drivers to advanced standard first and the Police do the blue light bit. At least that was the local plan when I did AD 'observing'. Not sure what happens these days. Can't imagine they've lowered standards.

You can have a motability car and not drive it - for example, your missus qualifies or your offspring has severe disabilities, but doesn't drive. Minion could live with his Mum and she carts him around in it.

That Walt that Minion is harping on about is an interesting character: https://www.tiktok.com/@ribbonengel121?

A Walt getting offended that another Walt is Walting better than him. biggrin
