Which aftershave do you use?
Discussion
I’d been using up old bottles recently as I’d run out of Tom ford tobacco vanille yet didn’t want to pay the price of a new one.
My mrs stepped in to the rescue with some locally produced oud (proper stuff) which i actually prefer, it’s less sweet and more Smokey and the scent stays for far longer. I think I should brave the greasy salesmen and gaudy interiors and try out more oud as it’s use in western scents has seen the arabian manufacturers up their game/variety

I rotate through a range of different aftershaves but my all-time favorite is Viktor & Rolf Spice Bomb. So very, very good. I'm interested in trying Captain Fawcett 'Booze & Baccy,' but ordering it online is apparently a pain as fragrances are flammable or explosive or something along those lines.

I saw this advertised. Would interested what it’s like if you could post your thoughts?Lord Marylebone said:

Anyone have experience with Penhaligon's?
Being eyeing their range for a while but haven't had chance to try any, tempted to pick up their sample set...
Penhaligon's is good in my opinion.Being eyeing their range for a while but haven't had chance to try any, tempted to pick up their sample set...
I first smelled Penhaligon's 'Violetta' on a lap dancer, and I liked it that much that I asked her what it was, and bought a bottle for my wife.
After that I had a smell of the mens range and have been a big fan of buying 'Endymion' for the last few years. It's nice.

Well, I shan't lie to you. I read this last night and decided to put off replying until I wore it again today. In a word, it's complex. It's musky and obviously spicy, but it's more nuanced than something like Old Spice. The way the notes develop pleases me greatly: it begins with a vaguely grapefruity or citrusy element but by the end of the day the spicy aspect dominates. Points also for the bottle, which is shaped like a grenade.I haven't tried Spice Bomb Extreme but from what I've heard it has a peppery component to the smell, which sounds nice. Spice Bomb Night Vision I know absolutely zero about. If Extreme has even greater staying power it could be interesting, because the original Spice Bomb lingers all day!
I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's probably the second most-complimented aftershave I use after... To Be (Or Not To Be), an entirely different - and less expensive - aftershave from Police. Typical.

Anyone recommend a new fragrance? Favourites are 212 (standard), Chanel Allure Sport, Gucci Guilty. Used to like Paul Smith too but haven't had that for a long time. Usually go for strong scents.
I'd suggest trying "Bleu de Chanel" which is sensible money. I also really like Bulgari's 'Wood Essence' and 'Man in Black'.If you want to jump up a price level try "Himalaya" and "Bois du Portugal" by Creed - they're bold scents and ones I really like. Toms Creed Decants will do you 10/20ml splits if you don't want to go the whole hog on a bottle.

I have some Creed Avensus, unfortunately it reacts with a wax cotton jacket I have, and, stinks?
I wouldn't recommend spraying any fragrance onto a wax cotton jacket.Don't know. It's a strange one.
