As has been mentioned already in the thread, be REALLY careful where you buy from as there is fake Creed being sold everywhere as I have just discovered!

I was tidying out a drawer in my bedroom which contains my aftershave, cuff links, contact lenses etc, and decided to unbox a new bottle of Creed Aventus that was bought for me at Christmas by a close family member who will remain nameless.

Upon getting it out of the box and examining it, I can tell you it is very clearly FAKE!

The one I bought myself is on the left, and the one I've just a taken out of the box is on the right. You can see the spray top is different and it doesn't say Creed on it. The bottle caps and the packaging looked identical.

Needless to say it smells nothing like Aventus, and just reeks strongly of alcohol/ethanol.

frown

Are either real? Every bottle I've had has a black wrap around label.

That's what the 30ml bottles look like. No black label.

The one on the left was bought by myself from John Lewis.

The top of mine, purchased a month ago from Fenwicks. Not the same as my previous bottle, but it smells right!

I assume they change the tops from time to time. Looks the same as yours, anyhow.

A bit of reading suggests that they do randomly change the spray tips from batch to batch.

But I can tell that it's 100% fake just by the smell. It's nothing like the real one.

I really want to ask where it was bought from but I don't really want to insult the person who bought me it!

I said Irish tweed is the best however I've just got this as felt like something different.

Much lighter, nice smell but doesn't last very long

Ditto. First started wearing it nearly 30 years ago after trying a sample from one of those duty-free selection packs.

Was very hard to find a few years ago, but seems to be available again.

Current favourites are Dior Homme Parfum and Dunhill Icon EDP.

The Dunhill was had for a very good price (£30 I think) in a giftset with shower gel at Debenhams at Christmas time. It was at least a tenner more just for the 50ml bottle on its own.

Also have a Prada Luna Rossa for lighter sunny days but the longevity is a bit crap.

Probably time to start looking for something else to add to the collection.

Awesome, addictive EDP! It's one of my firm favourites, and fantastic considering the price!

More samples on order as I've finished a few recently.

Creed Acier Aluminium
Dior Feve Delicieuse
D&G The One - Eau de Parfum
Creed Spice and Wood
Dior Eau Sauvage - Parfum

Of the ones I've just finished, Tom Ford Noir de Noir was very good (Rose, Oud, Vanilla) and lasted all day, Dior Sauvage and Creed Himalaya were unremarkable and didn't last well.

Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Lime have great shave cream and balm but the cologne lasts about 10 seconds. Nil pwunts.

The Atelier Cologne sample set again haven't been that special but Tobacco Nuit was very close to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille for a fraction of the price.

Lastly, I did get some Trebor Fruit Salad shower gel for a bit of a laugh, it's OK but I'd prefer Black Jack flavour. biggrin

Brut
Old Spice
Proraso

Am thinking about getting some Tabac to give that a try. Used to only use CK obsession and Issey Miyake but got bored with them and went old school.

Amazing how many people love the first 2.

I picked up a bottle of this the other day, it's absolutely tremendous. I only went out to get another Armani Code, but the Bvlgari was too nice to say no. I got a few samples too, a Mont Blanc something or other and a Dunhill Icon Elite. I wore the Dunhill today, it was nice but nothing exceptional. I can't wait to start using the Man in Black, it's a proper top drawer fragrance.

Seems we have similar tastes!

I bought Noir De Noir whilst it was on offer the other day. It's pretty addictive!

My favourite has now switched back to Tobacco Vanille, but the most addictive for me is Dior Homme Parfum. Have you tried it?

Scent Samples have 15% off (or did yesterday, not sure if they still do).

So i was about to order a sample of Creed Aventus until I read the description,

Challenging, masculine, optimistic and thrusting – AVENTUS is the ultimate experience for the modern man who builds on the legacy of the ages to develop his own unique and successful lifestyle.
