Hello all,

I’ve got loads of fragrances, most of the fancy stuff (Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, Killian Moonlight in Heaven, Le Labo Santal 33) and I’ve tried to sell 5ml decanters on eBay and vinted, despite the popular demand, eBay and vinted took all my adverts down multiple times despite me changing the wording and pictures which is a massive pain.

I’ve considered launching a website but I’m not trying to turn a profit and run a decant business.

I’ve got loads of fragrances that I barely use so just wanted to offload some, give others the opportunity to try £300 + fragrances for £10

I’ve researched and for each 1ml, you get 7-10 sprays depending on the nozzle, so with 5ml, you get at least 35 sprays

If anybody is interested in what I have/am offering, drop me a PM
is BR 540 really sweet? I smelt Ariana Grandes Cloud (which is meant to be similar and apparently 'unisex') but it was super sweet and id have said, aimed at someone in there teens as opposed to someone 'more mature'

Very. I get a toasted candy floss vibe from it and find it too much. I'd say it is a mature scent.

Personally, I find Oud for Greatness similar but much more pleasant.

Not a BR540 fan, burnt sugar/hospital smell to my nose. Distinctive though.

I have tried it a few times in stores - I really like it, wouldn’t call it a barbershop scent myself. For that I have Sartorial.

Does anyone fancy trying a small sample of Tom Ford Ebene Fume? I've got a small amount left and wondered if someone fancied trying it. Probably enough for a few sprays/1 wear.

Anyone interested in swapping/buying complete or I can split the PV's Splendiferous and Neroli.

Probably about 5% used and both look like this

No idea why the image is sideways as the original is normal

I tried Sartorial at the weekend. It’s safe to say it was not my bag at all.

I also tried Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree which was lovely. You can easily tell it’s from the TDH line but with Juniper/Grapefruit.

I was just coming on to post about this fragrance as I got a Terre d'Hermes free sample on my last purchase and I really like it. Definite citrus tang to it.

I think I have the same sample. Not tried it out yet.

Different enough from the original to justify buying IYO?

I want you all to observe a one minute silence to commemorate the loss of my sense of smell. I had Covid 2 weeks ago, and I still cannot smell or taste anything. It is very odd. I can spray something fairly strong such as Spicebomb onto my arm, and I get absolutely nothing. Like smelling water.

Sad times!

I am hoping it recovers sooner rather than later, otherwise I'm going to have to abandon my long-standing interest in fragrances and save a fortune!

I would give anything for even a whiff of Floris 'Elite' hehe

Sorry to hear that - I had similar and it came back in a month or so. The taste thing was actually the most alarming for me. I can send you my last spray of Elite to kick-start the senses if you want laugh

If you can no longer smell any fragrances and need to give them away as a result then I'd like to be the first to offer my assistance in this difficult time for you.

biggrin

Hope your nose gets its act together again soon mate!

Hope it recovers soon! I had covid a year ago and afterwards I had sudden hair loss on my facial hair and chest - it was absolutely bizarre and has only just started to grow again. My smell was fine during but I’m sure it changed a bit after, certain frags didn’t hit the nose quite the same.

Thoughts are with you in this difficult time.

(Genuinely do hope it improves though)

I'm not actually that fussy about it, and generally just use L'Oréal stuff, or unscented Simple stuff, but interested to hear of any recommendations smile

This week's test drives:

Killian Angel's Share.
Meh. Nice and 'cognacky' on the top notes but dries down to toilet cleaner.

Fredéric Malle The Moon.
Interesting. Once you get past that initial whiff of 'cat st' that all true ouds have, there's an element of raspberry notes which soon become 'figgy' and 'fruity'. Maybe an element of tea? Interesting, but I'd struggle to say it's worth the money at £11.99 for a 1 ml sample, never mind the rest.

Fredéric Malle Portrait of a Lady. Ignore the stupid name. This is a unisex sexy rose and patchouli. My current favourite.

Talk to me about good vetiver frags.

Normally I'm into vanilla gourmand type frags but I've got a bottle of laluque encre noir which is pretty good so going to explore more stuff with vetiver
TF Grey Vetiver may be worth a look?
Dyptique Vetiverio. Simply delicious.
