Managed to procure 0.05 ml of ‘jean Michelle jarre’ by BazsprayUK.

Pricey at £76 but I can’t afford the whole 50ml bottle
I get that you think you're being funny but you're actually just coming across as a complete twunt.

If you could fk off and just leave the adults to discuss something they enjoy, that'd be great.

Erolfa and MI are both pretty bland from Creed. I’d bunch Himalaya in with those too.

Virgin Island Water is one of my favourites though and as said before is like being drenched in Malibu, very coconutty. Maybe they mixed it up with Royal Water which is very floral.

Spice and Wood and Original Vetiver are both worth trying from the masculine side of Creeds lineup. Possibly Royal Oud too but that one is not for me.

Appreciate the feedback, I gave my Millesime away to a friend who liked it.

I'm a big fan of Himalaya though!

Issey Miyake "Eau d'Issey" (see what he did there with the name? What a wag...).

Obvs bought originally by my wife as she found my usual deodorant spray (Boot's budget deodorant and fly spray) offensive. So I had a deodorant spray and some aftershave and eventually managed to work out how to use them.

Spanner in the works this Xmas. Wife gives me yet another bottle of Eau d'Issey aftershave, except this time it is actually an eau de parfum, rather than "aftershave". I applied it as per usual on Xmas morning and we set off on the drive to my mother's. Wife and son take 30 seconds to start choking on the fumes and we then drive with windows open for next 60 miles. It turns out that "eau de parfum" means "industrial strength". Seriously, how is a bloke supposed to know this stuff?
You learn it when you look at which of the two to buy when getting the Mrs some perfume

I cheated and got 12.

http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/sa...

Figured a 12x sampler box of Amouage is pretty much the same as just buying 1, but I have them all to use... All the not so nice ones are used at work and the nice ones I save for nights out.

Go easy on the Interlude - it's seriously strong stuff! It's like a supercharged version of Creed Acier Aluminium.

Glad I have found this thread, I’ll be giving a full read later as I struggle to find new fragrances without recommendations, however I’ll quickly state my top 5.

1 - New York Amber by Bond No9 - All time favourite, very pricey though and to my knowledge Bond No9 are only sold in Harrods & Selfridges. I usually drive there in the evenings and enjoy looking at the cars parked nearby. 50 ml for £230 I believe, luckily mine was a gift!

2 - BondNo9.com by Bond No9 - this one I bought myself, exclusive to Selfridges, very similar to Avenue Creed at first but once it settles you can smell the fruity side to it. Relatively cheap considering the longevity you get, £107 for 50ml. I get lots of compliments even after 7 hours of wearing it.

3 - Chanel Bleu EDP - Top fragrance, would be first if it wasn’t so popular, I hardly ever wear it now as everytime I’m in a nightclub, the guy in the toilets is dishing out sprays for a quid. It was a gift but I think they’re around £80

4 - Terre D’Hermes by Hermes (or the other way around) - Timeless fragrance, very mature. £80 for EDP.

5 - Oud Wood by Tom Ford - I don’t own this one yet as it’s very expensive however I have had a few samples and it’s very good. It’s definitely worth the money however I’m not spending £150 on something I’ll hardly use. I have loads of others and struggle to decide which one to put on every time!

Having a brother and a best mate who both worked on board stena line ferries guaranteed me a regular supply of aftershaves. Men's Gucci rush (small plastic white and clear container) was my favourite, with Issey myaki a close second.

God knows what it all would of cost to buy. I always swore the testers were a lot stronger than normal retail versions.

Is it a safe bet to say that empty bottles are retained and added to a sizeable collection?

For me...

Favourite is Habit Rouge by Guerlain. I also really like Heritage by Guerlain (current 'go to' for everyday use).

Also favour Jo Malone (Lime Basil and Mandarin) and Antaeus by Chanel.

Just ordered from scent samples...can’t resist Tom!

Costa Azzura
Ombré Leather
Oud Wood
Neroli Portofino

Really keen on the last one but couldn’t justify £170 in duty free last week.

Nice, but it lasts about 5 minutes on me.

I have just discovered two that I really like:

Creed - Original Vetiver

Penhaligons - The tragedy of Lord George

I should point out that they are both really quite similar in my opinion, and by coincidence I got a sample of both of them at the same time after buying some other things.

They are both best described as a classic 'barber shop' aftershave, but especially Lord George which has an incredibly rich whiff of Brandy, Tonka and old fashioned shaving cream.

Really nice.

Not so nice is that Lord George is £185 for 75ml... but I like it that much that I'll probably buy it.

Or, buy 30ml of Creed OV for 35gbp from an old eBay split seller I, and many others, now buy directly from:

Another thumbs up for Tom from me, I wish he'd do 50ml splits though!

Thank you for the link.

Edited to add: just ordered 30ml. Very easy.

Had a bit of a result over the weekend and got original editions of YSL M7 and Yohji Homme, amongst a couple of other things.

Very happy with both of them, different but superb.

Bought Fredrick Malle Portait of A Lady last night from Selfridges, oh my god, the best scent ever, cannot fault it and the sillage after 1 spray is enormous. Went to Selfridges to buy a premium scent, spent an hour and a half there testing everything and 5 mins before they closed I smelt that and bought it immediately, 158 for 50ml but worth every penny.

Fredrick Malle also have a scent called The Night, 900 pounds, the lady sprayed the card and it literally smells like horse st, didn’t make sense, I’m not lying, it smelt like horse st.
