My current aftershaves

VR Spicebomb extreme for everyday use.
Creed Aventus for attracting attention from all the lasses and that.
TF Ombre Leather. My personal favorite but reserved for nights out.
TF Tobacco Vanille. Again for nights out but it's Mrs Toons favourite.
I like (and have) all of those except VR Spicebomb - looks like I should probably pick up a bottle of this too.

I like the normal spicebomb but it wears off after a while and is more subtle. I like a powerful hit of stench hence why I like all of the above. They are all very lasting and potent. The extreme version is more powerful than the ordinary SB but it's very similar in smell. I really like it.

Treated myself to some Creed Aventus after all the hype.

Nice smell, nothing too special. Wore it numerous times on nights out and didnt get a single comment from any females.

Wore some Joop last weekend and pulled 6 tarts in one night.

Creed Aventus. Don't believe the hype.

I should've probably put 'Extreme'! That'd be the one I'd go for.

It's become too popular and the 'norm'. Still a nice scent!

Although with Creed, it smells best numerous hours later, so you get the most compliments from the tarts the morning after. ;-)

Passing through Madrid airport today I tried VR spicebomb extreme and a few of the Tom Fords, including Tobacco Vanille. Didn't like any of them. Asked my colleagues to check it wasn't just me and they thought the same. No idea why they're so highly regarded!

Was in Louis Vuitton today picking something up and I stopped by the fragrance counter. Fell in love with Ombre Nomade which is the nicest Oud based scent I've smelt. Rich at £250 for 100ml but they gave me 6 samples to take which will last me a little while.

It's not that surprising, really. It's the same with food, drink etc - doesn't matter how highly regarded something is; if it's not to your taste it's not to your taste.

FWIW I have tried TV several times now and each time it has been different.

Yes, the Extreme is the one to go for, warmer and spicier than the regular Spicebomb imo. The Extreme is an EDP whereas the regular Spicebomb is EDT.

Last compliment I received when wearing Aventus was from a (male) funeral director!

Recently been diagnosed with an allergy to limonene which appears to be in every chuffing fragrance I have/like. Normally stick to Armani Code/ Code Profumo or Hugo Boss Bottled but that’s out of the window as they all contain limonene. I’ve been told to cut out all traces of it for a few months to see if it has any effect on my eczema flare ups. Anyone else have this issue?
Spent an eternity in both Manchester and Dubai airport duty free shops last week looking for something suitable and couldn’t find a thing. Google appears to have drawn a blank as well. Can anyone recommend something that I could use?

Why not email a bunch of the big names and see if they have anything without it?

Bleu de Chanel - Parfum. It's lovely and pokey as fk. Expensive but worth it.

Can't stand any of the creeds. Tried them all, also at first I thought it was giant windup, that's how much I thought they smelt bad but hey different strokes etc. This is also true of spicebomb which, admittedly I haven't smelt for a while but I remember having it. Very old man smell.

Ones I like which I'm sure others will hate. Polo blue, Polo Red and Polo black are all very nice. I also like Ultra violet and I liked black xs.

UV is still my go to choice, followed by Sauvage then Spice & Wood if it’s just to block out all else.

Try the new one, it's just Parfum so much more concentrated even over a EdP.

I loved EdP version, and decided I wanted a stronger version lol.

Ultraviolet just has a completely distinct smell(I know most do but hey) and it's something I very rarely smell on others.

I also like Givenchy Pi.

Blimey, the last thing I'd have said it needs was 'more strength'! I still have most of a bottle left so it'll be a while before I need to replace it. With Ultraviolet I once had a woman stop me on the Underground to ask what it was I was wearing as she liked it so much; as you say, it's very distinctive. Will look up Givenchy Pi on your recommendation as it seems we share similar tastes (apart from Creed!).

On a Creed note, I have Tabarome incoming from Tom. Not tried it before so it's a bit of a punt.

It's a one or two squirt job and it certainly isn't overwhelming.

I imagine the bottle will last me, which is an achievement for me as I'm heavy handed.

Pi has been around a long time now and it's probably the only manly scent I like. I prefer my fragrances to have a less musky notes.

Just ordered a few new ones from Scent Samples, unfortunately they don't do Givenchy so I'll have to try Pi from somewhere else.

Here's what's coming:

Creed Acier Aluminium
V&R Spicebomb - Extreme
Clive Christian X - Masculine Edition
Paco Rabanne 1 Million - Privé
Xerjoff 1861 - Renaissance

Not tried Clive Christian before and the only Paco Rabanne I've had (and love) is Ultraviolet as mentioned earlier so I thought I'd try another of theirs. Added Creed Acier Aluminium as it's another Creed I've not yet tried and Tom doesn't have it.

It'd be interesting to know your thoughts on those. I've tried three and one is a real stinker while the other two were sublime.
