Just came across https://www.scentandco.uk/, basically a subscription service picking a 10ml sample each month for £14.99. Reasonable lineup including Creed and Tom Ford. Code from basenotes - BASE20 - gives 20% off making my first months 10ml sample of Green Irish Tweed £12 delivered.
Scent & Co is another name for Scent Samples (their subscription part of the business). I can see why they'd want to nudge people toward a subscription basis though as it would provide a continuous cashflow rather than someone like me buying randomly as-and-when and in smaller quantities such as 1, 2 or 5ml....I did see that mentioned on Basenotes but outcome didn't seem conclusive, would make sense however.
Yes the subscription model should generate them some good cashflow. People like me will sign up and aren't really going to miss £15 a month so will keep it going, rather than as you say just buying a couple of 1ml bottles every so often.
I will of course look back in 3 years and realise I have spent £500 on samples!
As long as you pick the expensive ones (Creed, TF etc) it's quite well priced, wouldn't be that fond of getting 10ml of Boss for £15 though.

I used them a year or so ago when they had a much better selection for the outlay. They do send them in nice atomisers though, to be fair.
Yes, the welcome email has the Amouage logo but not available on the selector. I have emailed them to enquire.Been wearing Roja Elysium Perfume for the last few days, it reminds me of when I first discovered Creed and really brings a smile to my face when I get a waft of it

Tom ford noir and noir extreme.
I was actually looking for a Tom Ford Tabacco Vanille, but the John Lewis I was in only had the tester bottle left, then I saw, and smelt the one I went for. It’s a nicer scent, and at 156 quid for 125 ml, a bit cheaper than the TF one as well. It complements the Green Irish Tweed nicely too.Edited by GOATever on Monday 24th December 14:19
Eta: any other recommendations for a similar scent? I weat kiehl’s musk for everyday and kilian noir for going out. I want something similar to the latter but with more tobacco / less sweet

If your talking about Noir Extreme vs TV, then TV will be the one for you.Eta: any other recommendations for a similar scent? I weat kiehl’s musk for everyday and kilian noir for going out. I want something similar to the latter but with more tobacco / less sweet

Ive had TV, NE and Black Orchid and find NE a halfway house between the two but more on sweeter side.
Having said that, i could only ever smell tobacco on TV and never the vanilla aspect though others could

I found TV far too sickly sweet for the first 20-30 mins post application. Did settle down reasonably well after that.shirt said:

Parfums De Marly's Herod is pretty close but is similar in price. Eau des Bavx by L'Occitane is also in a similar vein but 1/3 price.

Anyone recommend any other creeds getting a bit bored of Aventus, and Green Irish Tweed.
I love Himalaya, Viking, Original Vetiver and Original Santal. I also have Bois du Portugal & Silver Mountain Water which are nice and Tabarome which I haven't tried yet.If you like Aventus & GIT, give Himalaya and Viking a try. Tom has them here: https://tomscreeddecants.bigcartel.com/
Diptyque Tam Dao.
I got this because Mrs S was watching an interview of Michael Buble a few years ago and it was mentioned that his aftershave was amazing.
I couldn't believe the price but then you don't need much. Mickey obviously worked out the value in men's toiletries as he's sacked off Tam Dao now and has his own range.....

Ascayman, if you’re working anywhere near West End just pop into Selfridges and go through the Amouage and Roja collections. Roja Elyssium is my new fave, it was recommended to me after I’d spoken to a really helpful (rare, I know) girl on the Roja counter in Selfridges. It is eye wateringly expensive when you consider how cheap you can get the samples from Tom, but I do like to own the bottles as well, one of the nightstands is starting to look like a science lab now

The EZ one is very ‘vanilla-ee’ if that’s a word, but it’s not sickly sweet, it’s mild. It settles nicely once it’s been on the skin for a few minutes as well. It’s rapidly becoming a replacement favourite over my previous all time fave, which was Escentric molecules molecule number 2.Eta: any other recommendations for a similar scent? In all seriousness, ask them for a spray of Elysium Parfum at the Roja counter, it’s top notch.
