JPG Elixir is the mostly all gold bottle, aye.

and yes, I agree - cracking fragrance.

Edit: whoa that's big!
Really like this, but maybe because I'm so used to the Le Male DNA, a short while after spraying I can't smell it.

It smells just like the magic tree I used to have hanging in my Nissan 200sx, instant nostalgia! cloud9
Got a bottle of this (Artiscent Atelier Musk Dore Eue De Parfum) delivered from Superdrug today, not totally sure I like it yet but I'm going to give it a try over the next few days.

Not aftershave-related but if anyone wants an anti-perspirant that smells great on its own (ie. gym etc or somewhere where you wouldn't wear fragrances) I can thoroughly recommend this which I bought purely because it was on offer:

L'Oreal Thermic Resist.

I use that and a couple of their other ones as well, they’re great and I wear dark tees/polos usually and they don’t leave white marks.

L'Oreal do a Barber club anti-p which has a spice bomb vibe to it if you are into that kind of fragrance. Haven't used it myself but had a smell of it earlier in shop, might give it a go as I usually buy L'Oreal stuff if on offer.

Ah, you might recall my earlier post buying this brand at the remarkable price of 50p each!

I like Superdrug.
Especially this lot below at 50p a can. Shall I have the lot? No, I'm not greedy, I took 10.
The refill razor blades packet on top of the cans were highly priced at 8p but assistant charged me 2p. LOL

The missis bought me a 5x sample pack of Creed for Valentines, quite liked either the Silver Mountain Water or Green Irish Tweed (I’ve forgotten which but one was lovely)

But REALLY liked the Aventus, I just can’t justify dropping 200+ notes on a bottle.

So I won a £100 voucher on Rev comps! Nipped to the local Perfume Shop on the way to work, used some of the voucher and came back with 30ml of this wink

It’s pretty good, definitely smells nicer the longer it’s on, it’s not as good as Aventus but hasn’t cost me anything and I wanted to try some anyway. Win win!

Whats the Armaf CDIN to get? That’s next on the list. I think there’s 3 different types but not sure which is the best Aventus clone?

Also bought a few 100ml bottles from The Scent Reserve to try, the dupes of Aventus, Invictus & Sauvage as I’ve got these back home
And wanted to see how they compare.

Their version of Sauvage isn’t very pleasant, doesn’t smell like it at all, it reminds me of something I had years ago but can’t place the name, not keen. Their Aventus is very very sweet, a bit too sickly for me….maybe it’ll get better with time? Their Invictus is rather nice though. I do like that. The best out of the three.

Also placed an order with The Essence Vault for the following but only the 5ml samples to try, these should be here tomorrow:

Inspired by Aventus - 200
Inspired by Sauvage - 197
Inspired by Green Irish Tweed - 411
Inspired by Baracatt Rouge 540 - 461

Wonder how these are, the other company was a little hit & miss!

Thanks, I’ll see how these samples are tomorrow.

The next purchase will be Armaf, just trying to work out which is the one to get

The Essence Vault ones are all terrible IMO. Nothing like what they are pretending to be.

I quite like MB Explorer but not sure it's an Aventus clone either, as many people refer to it as.

I also like a Aventus but similar to you can't justify the cost. I tend to just buy larger samples of the real stuff and use it more sparingly.

If anyone's interested, JPG Le Male Elixer is back in stock at Superdrug,

£63 delivered for 75ml. Which is a good price for such a bombastic fragrance.

I've bought one but probably won't be using it now until winter. I'm into my summer scents now. Green Irish Tweed and Neroli Portofino.

Yeah I’m not expecting much from these going off the TSR I had this week, but will find out soon enough!

Day 2 with the MB, I’m not getting much of the Aventus smell out of it, not a clone to my nose! But it’s still nice. Lasts pretty well around 8-9 hours on the skin but still there on my shirt after 12 hours.

I recently purchased a 3x100ml bundle from
noted Aromas - I went for their PDM Layton, ADP Colonia and Creed VIW - All 3 are fantastic, miles better than other clones I have used.

All are indistinguishable to my nose but more importantly they are very pleasant in their own right with good performance.

As it’s the first nice weekend of the year, I’ve gone for a L’eau de Issey summer from 2005. Lovely stuff and a shame it’s discontinued and I don’t have much left. Reminds me of my 20s laugh

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on their longevity. I've always been a bit of a snob and turned my nose up at copycat scents but the OH got me an Acqua Di Parma copy from Aldi before Christmas and its actually pretty good so I'm starting to look into these copies.

I'm surprised all these clones/dupes don't fall foul of copyright laws.

After all, some of these fragrance houses have deep pockets. Can you imagine someone replicating a Taylor Swift song and selling it as 'inspired by'. They'd get sued into outer space before they knew what hit them.
