Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 28)
Discussion
It was my birthday yesterday and I ended up in Birmingham to meet a close friend (the perils of being single again) and didn't think "well, Birmingham is about a bazillion miles from Harrogate so maybe don't go". 135 miles to be exact. After I'd drive 100 miles to get there from South of Lincoln (ish). After I'd driven from Malton having dropped the kids off the day before.
By my calculation, I've driven around 400 miles in a day and a bit, lost my favourite coat in Birmingham (I was sober dammit!) and a year older.
The important question though - How many small furry animals have I killed by wasting the evil killer diesel just hooning around?

I'm going to spend the weekend looking for something I've mislaid,a cable for camera to laptop communication.
How can I lose one of those ?........
Dunno. I lost my optical cable for the digibox to the amplifier. I know I had one. Pulled out the shed, spare room and half the place apart mumbling all the time about "I know I have one here somewhere, brand new and in the packet". Looked at the local shop £14 hahahahaha NO! So placed an order for it. It came three days later then I wander into the shed for something else and there it is still packaged in the box I KNOW I searched at least five times... So I will join you How can I lose one of those ?........

Yep, the Mrs wouldn't argue with me, luckily I found someone on the M4 CS thread that would. Turns out even when right I wasn't gonna win that's one either.

Well, that's the clutch fixed. I amaze myself sometimes...
Put a drop of Avgas in and gave it an Italian tune-up. Running a bloody treat now

It's a Rover 75 with the BMW diesel lump in it, it's still in lovely nick. Mrs B seldom 'lights the burners' in it so I do like to give it a bit of a treat occasionally!
When I was commuting regularly I woke up at five. Now that I'm working locally that has crept round to five thirty. Yesterday I had to be at work early but that was fine as I would still wake up in plenty of time to be there by seven. So I woke up, levered myself on to one elbow to peer over Mrs C at her bedside clock to find it was six forty seven. Eeeeek! Today of all days! Lay back to compose myself, then leapt from the bed like a young gazelle to hurriedly prepare for the day; bloke stuff, five minutes tops. When I got downstairs I noticed it was five thirty five. That's right, I had dreamt the whole waking up, looking at the clock, six forty seven, lying back down business.
Good Lord, quiet in here today.
I'm looking forward to the football soon, the Spurs / Chelsea business. I've got some Pringles and a few bottles of Fullers IPA on standby.
Which is a step up from Fullers Earth, although handy for soaking up oil spillages it's not much help when you're watching football on the box.
