They were on display, yes. So keeping 1,327 paying spectators from the surrounding villages occupied for eight hours was taxing to say the least. Driving the Isetta to the top of the hill, setting fire to it and pushing it towards the hayrick was an inspired choice. I know it missed and only flambéed the bus stop but one thing leads to another. The tombola in aid of a new bus shelter was most rewarding. Draws communities together. Dunkirk Spirit and all that.
The steering was knocking over rough ground. The radius rod socket was worn so had to come off but the 5/8 bolt was seized solid. Cue an hour with WD40 and a sledgehammer plus angle grinder. Out it comes and in goes a bolt from a BT pole that I've had for decades from when I stripped all the metalwork off some poles when they were changed but still had to extend the thread on it.

Needed a firmly worded e mail to get their fingers out of their rear passages though.
I'm off to order coke n hookers and maybe some baked beans too.

Went to the car auction yesterday to pick up a Micra the guvnor bought on line. They couldn't find it. I remarked it was the first time it had happened and was corrected that it happened frustratingly frequently. "But we do have nine thousand cars here at any one time."
Collected an S4 last week. That was fun.
In case you were wondering, we don't always fetch them one at a time. If he buys a bunch they're delivered on a transporter.

Bought a small fiat not even two weeks ago as a cheapo project, the stheap overheated overheated last weekend on a spirited drive, which resulted in me ripping the engine apart, get frustrated with 20 year old bolts being stuck and stty bodges done by previous owners
Then i realized a cinquecento 900 S is never going to be exciting or cool, and the handling is st without tons of mods to the suspension
So i rang a scrap dealer, they dont care the engine is in bits, ill just lob all the bits in the back and have it picked up.
Apparently i needed to learn (yet again), that buying a €400 car buys you nothing but neglect and other peoples missery, and that small stty fiats arent all that interesting, or worth bothering with spending lots of time effort and money on.

My friend has an S4. He let me drive it about a year ago. I'd now like a V8. The vRS is no more than I need, but it's still not a V8.
Mortgage first, then V8.
Oh.
It sounds good too. And it's surprisingly compact for a 4.2 litre V8. Admittedly my eye was trained by the Buick/Rover 3.5 litre V8 which - for a 'small block' - is a lump of a thing.Mortgage first, then V8.

Since becoming involved with the secondhand car trade I have discovered how little more you have to pay for a good car than a dodgy one. It's worth shopping around. Good, well cared for cars do exist. Part of the exercise is to find them. If the advert says 'no time wasters' go somewhere else. One man's time wasting is another man's close inspection. Then i realized a cinquecento 900 S is never going to be exciting or cool, and the handling is st without tons of mods to the suspension
