Out on the Great Divide
Where boys are boys
And men are men
And reckless youths go Solo
On Ace, King, Queen, Jack, ten.
And my limited Google skills call this up as a DC original; good work DC Out on the Great Divide

My old dad used to recite it when we played cards. We played cards a bit at home but with my mother's family card playing was a big deal. A big deal at a penny a point irrespective of the game. Apparently my great grandmother, during a game of brag, might pause theatrically to inspect the contents of her purse on her lap, then gamble an extra penny or two thus completely betraying her hand. Along with card playing there was singing. Not at the same time but frequently on the same occasion. There were pub songs and First War songs: Down at the Old Bull and Bush and It's a Long Way to Tipperary, that sort of thing. Ok, where did you get it from?
One Christmas my brother brought a new girlfriend. She was a very glamorous Dutch girl, unlikely to be familiar with English pub songs. At the commencement of the singing, of which she had no forewarning, she adopted a look of delighted surprise which she did her best to maintain for the following two hours.
When my dad died he had specified a non-religious ceremony. Mum asked my brother and me for suggestions for music. I was startled how hard she slapped down my idea for a pub song or two. A couple of weeks after the funeral I asked why. "I hate Chas and Dave songs." One of the last things the old boy said to me was, "Don't let you mother take over." I let him down with that one. A few verses of Bobbing Up and Down Like This would have done a power of good.

with 1000s of BHP available.
I've never seen a set of "wets" for a dragster.
Action where I am going will be able to continue unless it gets seriously tropical storm like.
Have a good weekend to all........

One of my partners at work (he of the seven at least to my knowledge cars, including a classic 911 and Bentley Arnage, with the S65 and S63 as his daily workhorses) 'phoned me this morning, "I'm going to be in a bit late because I'm taking on of my old cars for an MOT". Fair do's I thought. Two hours later, this
