At this particular point I don't know wether I'm either excited or st scared. Its my first return there after 14 years, having done 14 years on the trot before that. It's the first year where I won't be drinking and I'm driving.
So Captain Carnage is to become Captain Citron Presse.
You do realise you can drink when you're there, oui non? Ah, yes, about Citron Presse, they don't do it any more. They also don't know what you mean if you ask for cafe au lait grand. After fruitless repetition the waitress had a stroke of genius, "Latte?" she asked excitedly. Marvellous, you dislike adopting English words but Italian words are okay. That's fine then.So Captain Carnage is to become Captain Citron Presse.
Citroen Presse? I think one of my neighbours drives one of those. Uses it for the school run.
Ugly beast of a thing it is, looks all wrong at the back end.
Anyhow, granddaughter's coming over on Friday so I'll need to have a good sort out, make sure everything's ship - shape.
Have to set a good example for the youngsters.

How many "leptons" did you achieve ?
Like all the quick Audis I've driven it is so well sorted you spend a lot of time going faster than you realise. The reputation of fast Audis has always suffered at the hands of drivers who need their knuckles white before they proclaim a car satisfying to drive. The only inescapable symptom of rapid progress is foot-to-the-floor from stationary in sport mode. By 'eck. At launch I could not stop my head from hitting the head restraint even though I knew it was coming. (To be clear, I didn't spend all day doing it.) I suppose you could tip your head back to engage the head restraint before lift off. You'd just feel silly though. And look it presumably.moneymakestheworldgoaround said:
So where is the party at?
Happy Birthday chap, many happy returns and all that I reckon the best party's going to be at a camp site with the Le Mans posse. Wish I was over there, I'm helping a friend move some furniture today. Needs must I suppose.
I wonder how the Le Mans lot are getting on? Probably at the Carrefour for a re-supply by now I'd wager.
When Audi introduced the five cylinder engine they claimed it combined the power and smoothness of a six and the ecomomy of a four. We'll, I've been thinking, if I ever buy a 911 I'll avoid a Carrerra 4 as the four wheel drive is expensive to repair and opt for a GT3. Three wheel drive has to be the way forward.
