Take a grimy wheel arch, a soft bristle brush and a garden hose.

Nothing from the Le Mans posse yet?

I'm half expecting a bail application request anytime now.

Judging by the number of interesting cars around today they're still enjoying the drive home.

Back, back in the New York Grooooooooove....

Bloody brilliant. Racing incredible.

Wasnt incarcerated, banned, beaten up, the car didnt overturn, break down or catch fire and I didn't lose my wallet, car keys

Heres a photo of a blur. Its doing a bit under 200mph. We got very near.

I'm done with the camping lark there. Either too hot or too wet and I have to admit I'm too old to be trying to nick German flags now....so we hired a gite and it was coooooool

Marvellous stuff. Bit disappointing on the flag business though, my old dad was still nicking them when he was in his 80's.

He was still lobbing their towels in hotel swimming pools too, if the truth be known...

I was driving home this evening, queue of traffic behind a cyclist; cyclist pulled over and let everyone past with a smile.

Then

Closer into town, there was another cyclist using the purpose built cycle path rather than the road.

Strange times,

I have to say it's a difficult habit to stop. I tried to but didn't try very hard.

Ok I didn't even try.

Brilliant weekend.
Drank too much beer, didnt have enough sleep, watched some cars, and made some new mates.

Tired now, my alarm went off at 4.30am french time, packed then drove home.
I think I need some sleep if it is possible in this heat

Normally I have the radio on in the truck and my singing is normally directed by that or at least strongly influenced by it. For some reason this morning the radio was off when I had to negotiate mu way around a parked truck with McGill written on the back. Before I knew it I was singing Rocky Racoon from The Beatles' White Album.

Her name was McGill
And she called herself Lil
But everyone knew her as Nancy

A whole double album of favourites.

Except Number 9 of couse. No one likes that.

I feel I have done ok when my bill for new specs is under £500.
Especially now when I have to have ultra thin varifocals

Bit of a shock, the last time I had glasses was circa 1975 and they were proper NHS Ronnie Barkers with a bit of NHS-spec sticky plaster over one eye paperbag

Varifocalishness is the problem; it seems if you want ones that aren't 90% blurry around the edges then you need to be paying £200 for the lenses alone. And, of course, if you want frames that don't weight the same as a I-beam joist then you need to be paying well over a hunnerd quid for the frames....

By, it's bloody warm out again today.

I wonder why it's not quite as pleasant over here as it is when one's abroad?

Maybe it's because I'm not near the coast? Maybe I'm just a miserable old bugger grumpy
