Young Hamilton has equalled a record set by Jim Clark. He must really be quite good.

Obviously. A big part of the skill of the Formula1 driver is to make the best of the car they're hampered with.

I was hampered with once, nasty business I can tell you, still it taught me a lesson in life, I just cannot remember what it was.

Love a bit of crowd surfing.

Mrs C bought me some sweetened coconut.

I'm afraid it's addictive.

It's nearly all gone.

Wifey just cooked up some lovely rhubarb sourced from the village show yesterday, won first prize apparently.

Went down a treat with some vanilla ice cream topped with a little maple syrup, Mmm.

It's the "Festival of the unexceptional" next Saturday.

It's a bit far away to go and look at dull beige grey dull motors.

We'll see !

The other morning on his show Chris Evans proposed The Festival of Slow as counterpoint to The Festival of Speed.

I have a feeling there is one already.

I've read about a couple of those shows. They do have some good old 'blasts from the past' turn up.

Why is it that some cars get called classics just because they are old? They were crap then and are still crap!
my mate used to have a hillman avenger, what a pile of cr-p that was!

Way back in the early 80's, chap I worked with had an Avenger Tiger. Bloody quick it was, literally fell apart though within about 18 months of him buying it. It was about five years old then.

Another colleague had a Princess 2200. One of the wedge shaped things. It ate three sets of driveshafts in less than a year.

They don't make 'em like that any more.

I think I'd recognise it. If you tell me which railway it is or between where and where is it supposed to run and I'll go and look for telltale signs. Rails for example.
