Random (honestly random) streetview.

Fire, AIDS, cancer and a massive flood. That's what that cursed town needs.

Is that a former milk depot?

Chum was telling me about it the other day - next to a school iirc.
That's the former Valentine Pub. Fairly close to a school though, a couple of minutes away. Bought by a development company a few months ago, was closed and they applied for planning permission to build quite a few flats-up to 10 stories high. There has been quite some backlash by residents against this. The cynic in me wouldthink that the new landowner might be allowing this in order to push for the development to be given the green light...

Found out this morning that a crowd of these people appeared in my local station car park yesterday. Town is mostly up in arms but police saying no need for alarm. I’m not taking any chances, first job when I get home is to secure the garage from the inside.

Some of them can't be arsed to travel back to the homeland any more. When I was looking to move house four years ago, there were a few big properties on the market for peanuts around here. Wonder why: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.6219727,-1.09620...

I was thinking molotov cocktails? If the film Snatch was anything to go by, caravans burn nicely.

I'm amazed (or not!) how many of the homes in that town have wire mesh grilles over the doors and windows. Must be a charming place to party.

If Grand Theft Auto is anything to go by, one bullet to a gas bottle should see to the lot.

Really? the IRA were in the North, and many of the Irish Travellers in the Uk hail from Rathkeale which still has "many social issues" - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/rathkea...
The IRA have always had units in the South

Going back a week or so to the 'Rooney's' who were jailed for modern slavery, having read a report in The Times at one point the senior Rooney male told the judge they were not doing anything not repeated at many traveller sites.

That's from the horse's mouth. It may also accord with many views on this thread, but, at the very least it's a pretty damning indictment of modern travellers...and presumably a wake up call to the authorities to wield the big stick and sort out this menace.

Then there's the irony of travellers exploiting society's less fortunate members, whereas they usually play the victim card for all it's worth.

Trouble is, how has it got to this state?

Actually that is a good point. The few private sites near me have the same black iron gates with gold pointy bits. Maybe they fit nicely in the back of transits?

We are looking for a new house at the moment and one of the areas in our search has a sizeable 'Community' handily its easy to spot the houses and avoid them. Iron Gates and/or Black/Grey/White decor and furniture all over the house.

Some travelers arrived in our village a few weeks ago, parked up on grass verges.
They got into the local playing field, moved on, concrete blocks installed.
They then got on to a piece of land in the village - having messed up the playing field completely - at which point local MP Nadine Dorries got involved by telling everyone they had the powers to move them on and celebrating (via twitter) when they did move.
They had gone a couple of hundred yards up the road and are still there.

For a community of "travelers" they show a remarkable reluctance to fking travel.

The gates are one of the big giveaways, with the gold painted tops. The brick walls are always done in the same style, often you'll see the faux stone cladding, plastic columns, resin lions etc etc etc. All censored 'fixed dwellings' have a very similar style. There are huge shops that cater solely for censored, they sell all sorts of ghastly tat like fake gold taps, polystyrene vases sprayed silver and covered with sequins, that sort of stuff.

Prime example

They have a taste of a certain style. Think cheap knock-offs in Italian Renaissance style. In plastic. With Sequins. Everything else is Disney Princess style.

I can spot a censored house a mile off, irrespective of whether there's a white range rover/twin axle caravan/dirty transit parked outside.

Always look for the brick wall/iron railings style. That's clue number 1.

well that's the socialist mantra of all property is theft for you. It's our fault and the 3.142's are only relieving us of something not rightfully ours....
