That's near me, I saw the first one there on Saturday. One of the loveable scamps feral kids was jumping up and down on the roof of the bus shelter.anonymous said:

I wonder if this is the same group who are having a wake at the Seven Red Roses in Lower Earley today. From what I understand local businesses have been warned, police are supposed to be increasing their presence in the area, and the small Sainsbury's are supposedly bringing in a guard...Could be interesting, I might pop by on my way home and see what damage has been done!

why did they leave Eire? there was reports of the provos "taxing" them
"The Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, passed in 2002, made it an offence to enter and occupy land, or bring on to it any object that is likely to have one of five specified detrimental effects on the land or amenity. It provides no defence to this offence."Along with a number of other Acts over the years that made it harder for them to "st on their own doorstep"

I live a couple of miles away from this, so keeping everything locked down until they finally get moved on (hopefully soon !).

Last night they tried to get onto their regular field in Leybourne, but over the winter the council have built up earth bunds to stop them and so far it seems to have worked. However they moved to Larkfield, on the field on Lunsford Lane beside the M20. Larkfield PC put a new metal gate there after last year's incursions, with a strong padlock box, because previously the p* just cut the lock on the box. Since they couldn't get through the gate, they just smashed the wooden fence down and went in. Last time they were on that field it took some weeks to decontaminate it due to the levels of human waste left behind, the public were advised to keep away.I live a couple of miles away from this, so keeping everything locked down until they finally get moved on (hopefully soon !).
I expect the kids will be on the footbridge from that field which goes over the M20, lobbing bricks at cars now, so be careful if you're down that way (right by J4).
Why oh why is their behaviour tolerated and not clamped down on. (Rhetorical question).

What’s Brexit gor to do with it. Ireland is in the EU
The EU says they're a protected ethnic minority, and if you ask them not to steal your kid's bike, you're a racist.Outside the EU, there's the opportunity to change that legislation.
(I'm not banging the Brexit drum, just outlining the situation)

I'm sure the guys have their own definition of "polite"... I doubt if any action will be taken by the authorities against the perpetrators. They will just 'hire' their next van from another company... and remain above the law.

I seriously doubt such reports to be true. "Provos", i.e. the P.I.R.A, and republicans more generally would have sympathy and high levels of toleration for the traveling community, not least because when the Catholic families were being burned from their houses in the likes of Bombay Street in Belfast in August 1969, it was the travellers who voluntarily came, at much personal risk, to help them flee.SpeckledJim said:
