Loads of them in and around Reading at the moment causing all sorts of havoc.
My pal who is a local copper has had a ruck with a couple of them, but he's built like a brick sthouse and enjoys it when they kick off.

Just catching up on some local news and it would appear a gentleman called Mandy (apparently that's a normal traveller name) from our local permanent traveller camp was one of three people involved in a drug factory that potentially killed 6 people.
Not sure what the other 2 are, their addresses don't give the game away.
They had a dark web business selling cut fentanyl and carfentanyl, presumably stolen.

Massive problem with travellers around my way too, they are behind a string of ATM thefts, plus the usual fly tipping, thefts of tools from vans, burglaries etc.
My local police are always far too busy posting pics on social media to deal with them. They certainly were busy over the bank holiday anyway...

Mate bought a van the other day from an Irish guy.
I said as soon as I saw it I recognize it and it definitely looks like a Travellers van.
Peugeot Partner. 50k miles.
Driving back the other day and the cambelt strips it's teeth.
On stripping it down I smell a rat. Phone Northgate who I know anyway "Yes sir we last saw that in 2016 with 98k on it.
MOT history checks out too.
Landlords son (I thought they were travellers definitely gypsies or something but don't know what) says yeah that's deffo a travellers van, intact that was my sister's husband's (deffo a traveller).
Cheers guys!
I can't work out how the caravan lot get away with big thefts, where do they hide it all?

Were I in the market for a van buying one from a gentleman with an Oirish accent would be setting off alarm bells. I said as soon as I saw it I recognize it and it definitely looks like a Travellers van.

They don't hide it. They leave stuff in plain view in the middle of the camp... and then the police can't prove who is "holding" it. And would have to mount a massive operation to get it back without (or with) a riot. As mentioned above, why not go joint enterprise (which it exactly is, really) and just lock 'em all up?2 weeks since they moved in, this lot are still in situ: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-ne...
White transit at our local shop this morning. Two blokes and a kid with thick Irish accents in the shop.
I took a picture of the van as I left (just in case!) and have just checked the insurance and tax status of said vehicle. Surprise, surprise. Not taxed or insured. Now wish I had checked earlier and reported.

Reporting it for lack of insurance (unless you have a legitimate reason for having checked) could get you into more trouble than the perpetrators are likey to face!I took a picture of the van as I left (just in case!) and have just checked the insurance and tax status of said vehicle. Take care!
Had a call from the police this morning thanking me for calling them on sunday to report traveller children blocking the road to the village and pelting anyone with stones that tried to remove their road block. Unfortunately they didn't have anyone available to send out that night but it is always important to report these things, he concluded with they've gone and told them how dangerous this is before and he can't understand why it's not sinking in.

Why don’t social services take the kids into care? If they’re left unattended and found playing in roads and damaging other peoples property on multiple occasions clearly the parents have failed and the children are at risk.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
