So it seems that the indian summer we have been enjoying has had the negative effect of slowing these canutes' retreat back to their warm houses for the winter, and our village is infested with them for the third time this year. We have a nice village green with large old trees alongside a proper stream. They are pulling down as much of the trees as they can get to, and burning it on a constant big fire on the grass, whilst stting everywhere (and I mean that literally, they drop and squat all over the place) and throwing their rubbish over the hedges into neighbouring properties. Before buying this house, we put an offer in on one of the houses right next to where they are now, thinking it idyllic; thank fk we lost our buyer and that sale/purchase fell through.

Two nights ago, many people reported hearing gunshots coming from the encampment. Needless to say, BiB have done sweet FA about that. How come they can't do a full-on raid of the place based on firearms misuse?

And now we're back in the pantomime of "welfare" checks (last time, they pleaded that they had children who needed to be in school and won themselves an extra week in the village whilst the local "gypsy welfare officer" kindly investigated that for them). Then there will be notices to quit, which they'll ignore, then back to the courts again for an eviction notice. So we'll be well into the middle of next week earliest before they fk off.

And then they'll travel a mile or so, piss some other poor sods off, and if it's still warm, they'll come back again because it'll take another 10 days to get rid. And so it continues.

It's utter madness that anybody has to put up with this. Two years ago I asked why the court papers couldn't make an order saying they weren't allowed to pitch camp within an X-mile radius, so that they could be moved on immediately they came back. But no, apparently they can't.

How did they ever, ever get this "ethnic minority" status bks? They're not an ethnic minority, they're stty stinking thieving troublemakers who are completely and utterly taking the piss out of normal society, who seemingly can't touch them for one single thing that they do. And we can't call them the P-word? FFS. We're such a poncey pinked-up namby-pamby society who just let scum like this run roughshod over us. They need a good dose of rat poison, every last one of them.

Well, it seems the police are NOT scared of entering the sites after all. You just need large numbers, choppers, dogs and guns. hehe

Ah gypos. We've just for rid of the latest infestation. They moved back and forth between two sites a mile apart to keep the police and council on their toes. They robbed local shops, intimidated people, shat everywhere, destroyed council property, robbed kids bikes in the park, did I mention they defecated everywhere?! One of the gypo kids even went into the local Ferrari dealership and curled one out inside one of the cars vomit

I thought it was worth watching as a piece of modern history.

^ plus ca change….

Now here's a thing. Putting the legalities slightly to one side for a moment, would it be possible to have a contract with a security company (and by that I mean the sort of security company which, if they made a film about it, would be run by Ray Winstone, not the failed-PCSO wannabes who jolly around in Suzuki Jimnys) whereby if the pik..., sorry, "travellers" turn up, you put a call in saying you need 20 blokes here, now, and they rock up and persuade the travellers that this really isn't the best village for them to set up camp in?

I'm sure that there is due legal process, human rights, blah blah to take into account, but I also know that in some locations not a million miles from me, the stheads have been convinced by persons other than the elected officials that moving on extremely soon after they arrive is really the best option.

What say the PH collective?

Last time they were here, their kids sat on a fence next to the main road through the village pitching rocks at passing cars. One of my neighbours still has the resultant dent in the A-pillar of his car.

I'll leave you to guess what action the police took, although it was closely related to "those people are allowed to do whatever they like, whenever they like, wherever they like, and we refuse to take any action whatsoever against them".

The videos they post challenging each other to a fight require subtitles. I'm sure they're funny, just can't understand them.

Be fair, there are two types of traveller - the traditional, and now rare and have been around foe hundreds of years. Don't cause trouble, st everywhere, steal on invade your land.
I have never seen nor heard of this type. I don't think they exist.
They do. I have a number of traveller friends who are really very decent people with old fashioned gentlemen manners. Hard working and proud.

I've also dealt with the other and they are two very VERY separate things.
