BBC South did a report tonight about how much councils spend on clearing up after the visits

There was one women from an island tothe west of us who demande fixed places to stay

( i could have told her Rathcool (sp?) )

Anyway there was also a woman from Leeds who belonged to the Gypsy and travellers association, Educated and i thought that if they , the Romanys, wre to distance themselves form the lowlife from aforeside island, they may get better press

Might be able to get it on Iplayer

Had my first real encounter with some travellers tonight.

Was parked up on the main road with the hood down waiting for my wife to collect a takeaway.

I noticed the 3 kids loitering round but didnt think too much about it.

They then came up along side the car and started asking questions about it “how fast”, “how many bhp” etc. I answered their questions and just thought they were interested. Then started asking me to rev it, which I politely declined.

They kept insisting, and I declined again. I then happened to look in my wing mirror only to see one of them had whipped his cock out and was proceeding to piss up the rear wheel arch!

WTF is wrong with people!

My local chinese takeaway is only up the road so i cycle there. maybe 1-2 times a year there's always some traveller kid asking me about my bike, how much it weighs, and asking me if I want to sell my £300 road bike to him for £50.

First big case in the news for the new Unexplained Weath Order (UWO) legislation. Seems any asset over £50K will be fair game. Do we think this will apply to our travelling friends? No proof of legitimate funds / tax returns etc to support the new £100K Range Rover? Never mind, off to auction it goes.

Good bit of passing the buck there.

Council approached. Not our problem, it's the IDB.
IDB approached. Not our problem as a home builder rents the land.
MP (useless) approached. If it's illegal, they shouldn't be there. If it isn't temporary (errrmm, they have been there for months), they shouldn't be there. I'll talk to people about it (not much will happen).

I passed this mess a while ago on my bicycle. Didn't realise they were still there.

BBC Wales reporting a main road into Cardiff called Rover Way is blocked due to an ‘obstruction’ that no one seems to want to talk about , rumours say the road is blocked by vehicles??
A quick google and look one facebook shows it’s a well known traveller area with horses all over the place.
I wonder why the bbc didn’t mention that?
A bit more digging and find out it’s a travellers funeral!
Unbelievable how they can block a main arterial route and get away with it?
I assume the police are swarming all over the vehicles In question checking that they are legal??

Yep, I was stuck in the traffic this morning.

Want to block a main road? It's easy!

Just a) Be a 'traveller'
and b) Literally park in the middle of the road

It's the main route for the many lorries that go to the industrial estate, so with that blocked, the city centre was full of lorries. Marvelous.

The media have been covering this up for some reason.

They break the law every single day and nothing happens. This won't help at all.

I was stuck in this ste trying to get to Wentloog Avenue this morning for crying out loud. It was on arsebook what had caused the chaos.... Cars parked on a main A road. The media don’t want to report it as it’s embarrasing they let travellers get away with this st.

On another note... anyone else notice they are hanging around a lot longer this year? Usually gone home by now. Must be the warm weather.

More details out now, the police first said a police incident but more info now out. They had parked cars along the main road used by lorries as its quite and industrial area, the police had to close the road and this caused chaos over most of the city. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/live...

Parked up in the field behind our street. They were about half a mile down the road in a field that was for sale. The field near us suffered from a fire in June, and no one repaired the gate that the fire service broke down to gain access.

I would argue that removing the offending cars/Ford Transits would have been a better solution.
