The Bad: Reading Borough Council tells traffic wardens not to ticket travellers in borough car park:

The car park story has kicked up quite the stink in Reading.
I guess if Reading get the injunction done, then West Berks will have to do the same, or they'll just move out to Theale/Burghfield/etc

I wonder if those ticketed can claim racial discrimination? It seems to work the other way around

Up in Norfolk at Swaffham the local kids from the local official camp have started throwing stones at cars smashing windows etc.........
Now the police are appealing for info so they can do nothing.
The police enguagement officer, you cant call it liaison officer is now appealing for info and they are looking into it.
I'm not going to hold my breath that any will happen.
Plus the local paper’s website has been very ‘economical’ in its factual reporting here The initial report didn’t even give a location, this later page still doesn’t mention the camp and there seems to be some censorship going on in the comments when it is mentioned rolleyes I can’t help but think that had it been outside a kid’s playground or school yard the actual location would have been specifically identified.

Seems like a quite lenient sentence, when will the country realise these people are professional criminals?

Knock on the door today, man with usual suspects vehicle offering to render my walls. They are finished brick! When I politely refused he wanted to trim some trees that aren't even mine. Jack of all trades it seems. Coincidentally, I noticed a traveller camp had set up a couple of miles away a few days ago.

Nice report by Opinion Research Services in Swansea

https://www.breckland.gov.uk/media/2662/Breckland-...

In the short-term the Council should consider the use of existing transit provision or short-term
toleration/negotiated stopping agreements to deal with any encampments, as opposed to taking forward
an infrastructure-based approach

Seems very light. Use weapons in a robbery. Beat a woman, slash a copper with a sword. Get 7 years so out in 3

It's a pity he can't also be charged with PCOJ for not naming the other 3.

There's a bloke walking around absolutley leathered (white blazer) trying to calm the situation, bloke walks over and sucker punches him from the side/behind. I thought they at least fought with dignity and respect?

The prick lands the sucker punch and then goes and hides by the bar. Embarrassing censored

Actually, he goes and hides by the bar and grabs a bottle. He then attempts (unsuccessfully) to throw it at someone when confronting them.

I certainly noticed a lack of 'kicking a guy when he's down', which would be the preserve of 'council' rats.

Looks like the slow political machinations are starting to creak in to life.

Andrew Selous, MP for south west bedfordshire is looking to make unauthorised encampments illegal.

Wonder where he got that idea from?

Clicky for article (I can't abide regular gutter press articles like the fail)

Just checked the petition map and it seems his constituency has quite a large number of signatories

Poor copper.

"A PC has been charged with racially aggravated wounding after a police dog bit a traveller's leg."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-4...

"The incident happened on 4th September 2017 at the former North Worcestershire Golf Club in Hanging Lane, where a group of travellers were pitched, after police were called to a report of the theft of roof tiles from the former clubhouse.

During the incident, a man was restrained by a police dog handler deploying his dog.

The police watchdog was asked to assess the conduct of the dog handler after a video of the incident – captioned: “[…]everyone share this post on let people see how travellers really get treated” – was posted on Facebook and viewed millions of times."
