Know someone who sold a car to someone last year. He rings up the next day, saying the car was defective and could he meet him in a rural layby down the road to pick up the broken-down car and bring with him the ~£1k cash he paid for it. When he says no, ring the AA (or whatever) and drop it off at his business premises and he'll happily take a look at the car (standard procedure), the bloke asks if he has fire insurance and sprinklers at his dealership. Not a pleasant experience to be on the end of an attempted scam / robbery.

We've just had a visitation at the garden centre I work at by a happy-go-lucky travelling type and his dressing-gown-wearing paramour.

Thrown out for trying to open fire exit doors and force the entry door open from inside (!) he then set off in his van for a tour of the non-public nursery, when then asked to leave the site he started effing and blinding at my 5'2" female boss and repeatedly threatened to get out of the van and knock her out. Nice fellow!

And we'll get robbed in 10...9...8...

I've now been told we had a large flock of the female of the species in for breakfast the other morning, all in their jim jams and dressing gowns.

If they are in at the same time as our regular crowd of public school mums, it could be so funny.

Last year in a very exclusive dealership 3 feral kids were helping themselves to all the coke, tea, juice at the customer waiting area, TV up to full volume. The service manager eventually got rid of them and told me it's easier to let them run riot for 1/2 hour than suffer the consequences when the rest of the "gypos" are camped in the park behind their compound.

A lot of them work very hard. I'm not suggesting they do quality work, but when contracted to do work (roof, driveway, building, whatever) you can't ever question their work ethic. Yeh sure they cut corners and sure they probably leave bad jobs all over the place, but that's true of many non gypo trades people!

Then the rest of them work very hard in their chosen field of criminality.

Very few of the men do sod all all day, they need to build up their ilgotten gains to buy that ranger/ navara
