It's Crawley. The lockdown would have been to protect the travellers from the inmates/students.

That's my old school. I loved the local reports of parents removing their children because "you never know what might happen," do they think gypsies will steal the children or something?

There's an area of land between to housing estates in Warrington that they've pitched up into this week, so I guess when they're gone the council will dump some lumps of concrete down which will look great

I saw in middlewich years ago they did the same, once they'd gone at the end of the summer the council painted double yellows and put concrete box sections on the verge to stop them parking

I can see the Councillors faces now, right that's stopped them

Next year they were back, parked on the double yellows all sat round the concrete box sections having dinner, they were just the right height for a table, stupid fkers hadn't even considered using something round.

I can hear the conversations with the traffic wardens, go up there and ticket all those transits, you can fk right off

Apparently the pupils were kept indoors over lunch break, has the memo about multiculturalism gone astray?

Thanks to the Wickham horse fair, most of the pubs in the immediate area have been asked to close until Sunday by the Police as they don't have the manpower to deal with the aftermath.

The local chip wrapper has been busy removing all the negative comments from their site as well: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/15295299.Wickham_H...

Mine too, In fact that's my old form room they are camped right next too in the pictures smile

I always thought they were a lot cleverer than just turning up and Bolt cutting off the lock to gain access.
Apparently they have left Hazelwick now and are now occupying the Pease Pottage services car park

Its about time the various authorities got together and 'blitzed' these groups when they all turn up in one place - check all their papers, vehicles, income tax etc etc

What like banging on the windows as the children were taking their exams!!!!!!
Its a fking liberty, those poor kids were probably stressed enough without those mindless 3.14keys coming along.

My daughter was at the cinema last weekend and was being hassled by 2 young lads. When i arrived to pick her and her friend up i could tell they were travellers. I told them to do one, which they did but not before shouting abuse. 2 Security guards were over the other side of the leisure park so as i was leaving i had a word with them. The pair of spineless tts said "we've moved them on mate" to which my reply was great job cos they are still there.....

It could be worse.

Local farmer has a field entrance blocked by fly tipped food and other waste which is identifiable from various restaurant and takeaways.

Reports it to police and council, as it is a) criminal offence and b) health hazard.

Told he has two days to clear the site up or else HE will be the one prosecuted.

My wife's parents are local to bishops Waltham. Friday night I went there to get a Chinese take away, lots of Irish plated vans parked outside on the pavement.

Get into the Chinese take away to find the place being terrorised, Claims of "I gave you the money in 20's not 10's".

Very frustrating but nothing anyone can.

I'm sure it's a coincidence that the wickham horse fair is on....

This time last year I lived on the a27, all around the fair in the middle of the night you'd have transit vans smoking around in the middle of the night, would always have to take my trailers, Greenlaning 4x4 to my folks for fear of them being gone whilst we are out. Terrible

If you wrote a novel and put a storyline like this in, people would rightly tell you not to be so ridiculous. But I don't doubt the veracity of any of the above.

Just drove through Wickham. Looks like a warzone with places all barricaded up, the square looked a complete mess with rubbish everywhere.
All very quiet though, looks like they've had their 'traditional' fair and moved on.

To which the correct response would be, 'see you in court' - can't see a magistrate prosecuting a farmer for going through the right channels and then being forced by council to act as some sort of 'king nanny.

SFW But you may need sound to hear the stupid accent laugh

Traveller kid drives pick up home.

This is very common of course.

I would like to see their vehicles confiscated and crushed every time they are pulled for no insurance, tax etc
I'd also like to see anyone employing them for work fined £10K or prison for encouraging tax evasion

No doubt the liberals will say that's wacist

What's to stop him doing the same and dumping the lot at one of the 'councillor's properties?

I'd be very tempted to do this, 2-3am and leave them to sort it. Sort of musical waste.

Sadly other cases like this. Another, this time a householder was forced to spend thick end of a couple of grand to hire a proper waste contractor to dispose of fly tipped rubbish as she was blocked in.

After every Christmas the lane has tips of Christmas rubbish, toy boxes and what have you. Can't specifically blame the caravan dwelling lot though, they tend to just pile stuff like that up where they are staying and then clear off.
